Explorers: Big Bash Camp 2015
The Big Bash Camp is a weekend activity camp held for Explorers from the East Somerset District. It is held in Curry Rivel with water activities based on the River Parrett in Langport, and land activities based on the campsite and surrounding area. All Explorers had a fantastic time and spent their Saturday participating in activities such as Canoeing, Making and sailing a coracle and building a raft which successfully negotiated its way along the river. Barton Explorers 'The Bruers' took the opportunity to be invested on the water and the ceremony was conducted by Assistant District Commissioner for 14-25, Pete Ward. On Saturday evening we all went on a trekking trail set up by the Network Scouts and finished the day around a roaring campfire. On Sunday we enjoyed air rifle shooting and archery in the morning prior to striking camp and heading home. Grateful thanks to Ritchie from the Lendiniae Explorers for organising the event, we were made to feel very welcome and we look forward to more of the same next year.
