ok, in my most recent Donna doodles, I did this
Not only are there reasons for this in the comic, but there are artistic reasons too! (Nobody asked but I'd like to share anyway because I think it's cool)
First, Delilah is Leo's kid through and through, she shares some of his best traits (the confidence, the brilliant planning mind, ya know the stuff that makes him such a good leader), but also some of the worst (the tendency to show boat to mask real feelings and the ability to lie very very well)
But she also shares Donnie's curiosity and a lot of Mikey's creativity (but mainly for her clothes, she loves mix matching patterns and colours), and she also shares Raph's love of small critters.
Leo sees Mikey the most in Donna because he was the most colorful, the one that experimented with art and was generally very bubbly, just like Donna. Even when Mikey was actively dying, he had an optimistic view on the world. Donna has that same world view because she's just that kind of person.
Now, the artistic choices. Mikey's head shape kind of inspired Donna's, with a few tweaks, because I feel like his head is the most childlike than the others and I just like the idea. Donna also will have missing teeth (my little brother is just starting to lose teeth and the missing front teeth is adorable in my opinion. Cutest button ever, the little terror. Anyway-) much like Mikey's tooth gap.
They're very similar, but different too and I'm really proud of it and I think it's cute (with a little sad)!
