Top 5 genuine moments that you feel soft about when reminiscing
In no specific order - 5 things that I feel soft looking back on …. Which made me cry thinking about just now —- are:
The day I saw the Grand Canyon, and how he let me spend hours there in awe and the way he looked at me, and how he let me go around taking picture of everyone for them (I can’t help it - i will always be the one to offer to take photos for you….everyone deserves to have a good photo - and not all selfies) which was also the day he told me he loved me for the first time … and he said he knew 1000% when he saw the way i looked at the Grand Canyon and how he felt watching to look at it.
The day my Garp (grandfather) died while I was holding his hand- I couldn’t have asked for a better goodbye or peaceful death, and we were all there and … the pastor even said he had never seen such love and felt so at peace during a passing as he did with us. And he wished everyone could experience death like that. I lost my favorite person that day - and heaven gained the best angel.
The day I adopted my dog - he was an emergency foster when I worked at the humane society - and I thought he was ugly and I never wanted a little dog - and he adopted me…. And it melted my heart so he’s been mine ever since.
The day I let the boys kidnap me from the airport - and I fell in love with Arizona and the red rock and the dry heat, met my tumblr little brother (@goddamnitwhalen )and that one boy … the one who ended up being everything to me -my second favorite person that I loved most. (This one hurts - but… I don’t regret it because I loved (nearly) every minute of Us. But that same boy I fell in love with just recently (aka a month and a half ago) Ultimately destroyed my heart and devastated my life when I got blindsided and discarded and blocked. (After we picked a house together and my offer was accepted, right before his trip out here for the vacation I planned, Right before our anniversary which he had a big thing planned for - and after talking about getting married after calling me by his last name for months… and instead of engaged I got blocked🤦🏻♀️) But walking out on my connecting flight and staying in Arizona will always be something that means the world to me and genuinely changed my life. For both the good and the bad. (Sorry for the rant there.)
And last one of the five I’ve written -
The day I moved myself to Scotland for university and left everyone I knew behind to embark on a new solo adventure - with no cell phone plan lol. And crying as the plane took off out of fear, excitement, sadness and all the emotions. And being proud I boarded and actually made it happen.
