Big Jack Johnson - Catfish Blues

‘Probably my favourite Big Jack Johnson song, a great take on the classic track "Rollin' Stone/Catfish Blues", a Muddy Waters track, based on a song written by Robert Petway, a blues musician who is now presumed dead, though no official or even unofficial record exists to prove he is dead, and his date of birth is unknown, though presumed to be sometime in 1908. Also of note is that only one known photograph of Petway has ever been found. This song is based on another song, which includes a verse about catfish, specifically the lines: "I wished I was a catfish, swimming down in the sea; I 'd have some good woman, fishing after me." ‘
