Built my first meshtastic node. Didn't have my 3d printer working so I used an old jar and added some hot glue. It works! For twenty bucks worth of parts I now have a solar radio that can send text messages across the city with no infrastructure.

Baby girl is coming together!
I really have a hard time giving a shit about your 4 cyberdecks (soon to be more e-waste as soon as the trend plays itself out) when I have to beg for 8 days straight to get enough money for toilet paper and food. Robbing people needs to be more disability-accessible. 🔪

REPAIR LOG - Benjie X1 MP3 Player
TL;DR if you know anything about capacitive touch panels and/or soldering tiny bullshit, please hit me up.
SYMPTOMS/DIAGNOSIS: shattered touch screen (ran over it with my bike…)
STEPS TAKEN: dismantled, traced connections, researched possible replacements
STATUS: confirmed schematics / connections to main board
NEXT STEPS: well... great question. I have all the information I need, I think. Look, that diagram up there? I scanned and labeled that shit! That was not available anywhere so I traced those connections! I have the understanding... but not the tools.
More below.
i think its done?
Jameco Electronic Components
Catalog 941, February - April 1994
Jameco Electronics has been serving hobbyists, engineers, and industry professionals for over 45 years. I personally can count myself among those who would thumb endlessly through the pages, from my pre-teen years into my engineering career.
Founded in 1972 by Dennis Farley, Jameco began as a small mail-order business in Silicon Valley, California. Initially focusing on surplus electronics, the company expanded its product line to include a wide range of electronic components, tools, and accessories.
Throughout its history, Jameco has been committed to providing exceptional customer service, competitive pricing, and a vast selection of products. Today, Jameco remains a trusted source for electronic components, continuing to support innovation and creativity in the electronics community.
Look, if you want good electronics, sometimes you gotta build it yourself. If you want to do it the easy way, someone might have made a custom PCB available to buy. Which would be great if it weren't for the fucking tariffs. No way I'm giving a cent to the government for what I bought abroad! So this means if you want to build a good FLAC player and don't want a bunch of tariffs, you better get real comfortable with getting deep in the weeds with ADCs and DACs. And don't get me started on DigiKey's website layout
You ever order from DigiKey, Brendon?
