Just got a solo victory in a trios game in Apex Legends. The way it happened would piss so many people off if I posted it on Reddit (gonna do it after this).

Okay, so I solo dropped on World’s Edge as Rampart, because I wanted to see any voice lines for her in Big Maude, the new Rampart-centric Point-of-Interest on the map.

Got really lucky in that the dropship was clear on the other side of the map the entire time, so I was able to drop at Big Maude without trouble, and went unbothered the entire time I was there. Had a good look around, listened to her voice lines there, and got kitted out because it was a high-value-loot area that game.

Had to do a fair hike to the next ring, where I parked myself to go AFK to take a phone call. Said call lasted a few rings (the game kind, not the phone kind), but I ended up being inside the ring already each time.

The call ended, and I looked back to the game to see that it was just me and one other squad.

“Cool,” I thought, “I’ll just go get killed by them real quick.” I’m an okay player, but I didn’t fancy my chances of taking out the last remaining squad solo.

However...

I heard their Valkyrie’s jump-jets going (I’d been parked on a roof with the ring at my back), so I span up my newly-mobile Sheila ult that I’d had no cause to use all game. Valkyrie crests the lip of the roof slap-bang in front of me, and I open fire. 

Seconds later, I’m being crowned champion, as that Valkyrie was all alone, too.

A surprise, to be sure, but not an unwelcome one (once you get down to <5 squads, it stops telling you how many other players are still in the game).

I won a trios game solo, by killing exactly one guy, and spending half the match AFK on the phone.

I can’t wait to find out how many tryhard Apex Legends Redditors that’s gonna piss off, especially if I act really braggy about it, too. I think I’m just gonna go full trollface on this one.

has anyone found out where to interact for that Mirage voiceline where he talks about Rampart taking his stuff for something

It’s a Big Maude one and its in the files but I haven’t seen anything about it anywhere

😭I just want to explore Big Maude but I can’t want to load into a lobby and die instantly 

at the very least Apex could let us make private lobbies for personal exploring
