Working in this industry makes me realize how much men fucking suck.

There are literally two men on this Earth that I feel 100% comfortable around and can stand being around for an infinite amount of time.

And those men are dizzywhip and mouthwords-memorytimes.

There's this super misogynistic client that comes into work sometimes and yesterday he was talking about IUDs for some reason and he was like "I dunno, they're just like condoms." No???? They're not????? Apparently his girlfriend has one and he also said "These hoes ain't loyal." Yes, because using birth control means that your girlfriend is obviously cheating on you???? Men are disgusting.

Despite the rant I just posted, I have plenty to be grateful for and happy about.

Although my job doesn’t pay well and I don’t click well with the people I work with, I still love it. I get to be around camera equipment all day and I’m constantly learning.

I live in LOS ANGELES! That’s an accomplishment in itself. I never in a million years dreamed that I would even be here.

I haven’t gotten a freelance gig in a while, but I have gotten them. And they’ve all been rewarding experiences.

I have a very tiny network of “true” friends out here. Especially my roommate/best friend. I honestly don’t know what I would do if she wasn’t here with me.

I have an even bigger network of friends from all over the world. I’m lookin’ at you, Johnsburg.

I took a chance and made an OkCupid profile a few months ago just for the heck of it. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would match me up with the perfect man. My boyfriend is a constant source of happiness, encouragement, and support. I don’t feel like I deserve someone as special as him, but here I am!

I just have to think of the positive things in my life instead of dwelling on the negative. But sometimes ya just gotta rant and get the negative yuckies off your chest!

I pretty much live paycheck to paycheck and being an adult is incredibly stressful.

But I can’t help but smile every day because I live in Los Angeles, I get to live out my dream every single day, I met a wonderful man who makes me feel like queen of the Earth, and I have a great network of friends and family that are always there for me. Life is amazing right now.

I didn’t get the job that I interviewed for a few weeks ago. I’m so frustrated and upset because it was literally the PERFECT job in the PERFECT location. I thought the interview went really well and I was so confident that I would get it.

I’ve been having a lot of anxiety and depression these past four months in LA because of being unemployed. The last day of my internship was yesterday and my savings account is slowly draining.

When I got the news that I didn’t get the job, I went right into the bathroom and cried my eyes out. Getting that interview was a tiny sliver of hope and it really boosted my spirits. Now I’m worse than I was before.

But I can’t just sit here and feel sorry for myself. That’s not going to get me a job. I’m applying to more jobs today, some that the supervisor at my internship recommended I try. Something great will come up, I just know it. 

I also have a really amazing support system. My family, friends, and now my boyfriend have all been incredibly nice and supportive. I honestly don’t know if I’d still be here in LA, trying to live out my dream, without all of them.

TL;DR - I DIDN’T GET THE JOB BUT I’M GONNA GET THE NEXT ONE.
