Marc Cohn Goes “Walking in Staten” with Pete Davidson, Big Wet and Method Man on “SNL”

By the time Marc Cohn declared he had no interest in being in a parody of his own song, it was too late.

He was already in it.

Like a modern-day Dorothy and not in Memphis anymore, Cohn found himself “Walking in Staten” among bagel shops and pizza joints - even a strip club turned McDonald’s - alongside Pete Davidson, Big Wet and Method Man in a deliriously off-kilter and incongruous “Saturday Night Live” spoof.

Black-and-white video, I (Heart) Staten Island hoodies, rap, Fresh Kills, White Claw, wild turkeys and gospel all figure in to the mix.

And when Method proclaims himself Italian for a night, it’s easy to understand why Davidson says, “This place is the reason I turned out weird.”
