Studing the male's face in silence for a long time, Derek smiled faintly and pressed a hard kiss to his lips. "I won't let you forget either..." He murmured inbetween kisses while he continued stroking his thumb against his cheek. "I'll remind you every day who you are, who I am, and how much I love you."
It felt like a knife in his heart but he offered Derek an unsteady smile. "I know you will," he said, voice rough. He shouldn't have stopped for the night. He'd been being selfish and stupid. So stupid. Derek's memory was deteriorating by the day. They couldn't risk stopping for anything, couldn't waste more time.He leaned in and kissed Derek quickly. "We should get on the road."
Can I get links from the lovelies I'm about to tag if I owe you?
//i still see what are you doing -shifty eyes-
"Fair enough then." Derek murmurs softly, kissing the back of Stiles' neck once more before resting his chin on his shoulder as he felt the other lean back against him. Unlike Stiles, he didn't care for their so called old home. He couldn't remember it, so why should he? "Might not like what you find there." To him all that mattered at the end of the day was that he was with Stiles and he would go where he went. So if this town was where he was headed, so be it.
Stiles took in a deep breath and turned in Derek's arms, wrapping his own around the wolf's shoulders. "I know. But we can't... we have to go back. What if we forget again?" His heart constricted in his chest and he choked on the next words. "What if we forget each other?" What if you forget me, he wanted to cry. But it didn't matter and it wasn't fair. It wasn't Derek's fault. It was whatever magic had been put on them in the first place.
Upon noticing the flinch that had caused the younger to stop packing his belongings, he felt a twinge of guilt and regret in even asking something so trivial. He didn't know why it upset Stiles and wasn't sure if it was a good idea to ask incase it upset him more, so he didn't. Derek shoved his ID back into the back pocket of his jeans and wandered up behind him before wrapping his arms around his waist, kissing his nape. "Why are we going back if we left it in the first place?"
Stiles wrapped his arms over Derek's, holding Derek's arms tighter around himself, and leaned back into him. At the question he closed his eyes, biting the inside of his cheek. "We need to figure out why we forgot everything we used to know. It's important." No point in telling Derek that he's the one forgetting all their new memories too. He won't remember later.
"What the hell is a Beacon Hills?" Derek grumbled, frowning down at his ID before lifting his gaze up to Stiles. As of late, his memory was going quicker than they anticipated to the point he didn't even realise he was losing his memories anymore. { Have a sad thing? -hides- }
The question made him wince, pausing in his packing. They're almost there, almost back where they came from, where they've been running from for months now. Stiles could have gotten them there last night but he'd stalled. Wanting one more night, just him and Derek. Scared of what they would find it. Scared of losing Derek for good. Every morning it was like more of Derek's memories had faded. He tried to push fear and hurt aside. So far none of the questions had been /who are you/ and Stiles was holding onto that."Home, I guess," he finally answered, when he thought his voice was steady enough. "It's where we can from, where we're headed now."
