It was getting late. The sun would be setting soon but Heidi couldn’t afford a room in the dingy highway motel attached to the trashy bar she was resiting in. Not without shacking up with a stranger, but she wasn’t that desperate yet. She wasn’t able to take much money with her when she left South Park, but she still tried her best to get as far away as possible.
She threw back her head, finishing off her beer and snuffed out her cigarette in the ashtray decorated with the bar’s logo. She pocketed some peanut and left a few dollar to pay off her tab before heading out. It was a shit hole anyway.
The evenings got chilly so Heidi hugged her arms around her body to maintain some warmth. Her eyes stayed focused one the road as she strolled parallel to it. Hopefully someone could give her a ride. The forest background made her nervous. It felt like an animal could come out and attack her at any moment
