OF SECOND CHANCES ✖ RACHEL + QUINN
She was nervous, she was't going to lie. The last thing she imagined a few weeks ago, was that she was going to reconnect with Quinn, learn that her ex-girlfriend was a famous musician now, that Rachel had been the inspiration for her album (and it was both nice and a bad thing because wow, Quinn must have hated her for a while there), and that they would be hanging out and seeing one of her favorite singers together. Sure, Tina was going to be there--at least that's what Rachel got from Quinn's texts--so it would make the meeting less awkward, but still, the idea of seeing the blonde again made her extremely nervous. Knots in her stomach, sweaty palms and everything. She felt like a child again.
The ride to the Madison Square Garden took longer than expected -- blame the New York City public transportation. Her friend Jesse offered to give her a ride, but when Rachel got a text from him saying he had to stay late at work, she decided not to think of it as a sign that she shouldn't go and took the subway instead.
Going to audition after audition only to never get call backs became exhausting for her. Paying off student loans, a rent, food, and personal expenses on a waitressing tips just wasn't cutting it for her. So she had to trade the luxury Manhattan life, for the Bronx.
And now she was late.
Rachel let out a frustrated sigh as she exited the subway, but stopped midstep as soon as she was on the sidewalk. She could do it, she could turn around and go back to her small apartment, change into her pajamas, and watch movies or listen to music all night thinking about the What Could Have Been. Why was she even nervous, anyway? There was nothing to be scared of, except maybe an angry Quinn that by the end of the night she would realize what a bad idea meeting after years had been, and would ask Rachel to stay out of her life. It was a worst case scenario, but she had to be prepared for everything.
Closing her eyes momentarily and taking a deep calming breath, Rachel gave herself a quick pep-talk and took out her phone and sent Quinn a short text "I'm almost there, sorry!".
Everything was going to be alright and they were going to have a fun night. Maybe if Rachel kept repeating that to herself, it would become true.
