OF SECOND CHANCES ✖ RACHEL + QUINN
Quinn couldn’t get Tina’s face out of her head when she told her that she offered the spare ticket to her ex-girlfriend. She also might have smacked Quinn on the arm and told her that was a terribly stupid idea, but she was trying to completely disregard that part. Sure maybe Quinn was having second thoughts, but after everything that’s happened and how her career is taking off she wanted Rachel and herself to be on good terms.
The blonde was walking up to the arena when she felt her phone buzz in her pocket and she saw Rachel’s text about running late, and replied saying that she would be waiting for her out front. As she waited for Rachel the musician was approached by a couple of fans who just wanted to shake her hand and snap a quick picture. It wasn’t something that happened very often, but every once in a while Quinn was recognized on the bustling streets of New York City and it was going to take some getting used to. Sure, she was used to the halls parting like the red sea for her in high school, but this was a whole different playing field. It wasn’t the life she saw for herself. It was the life she saw for Rachel.
After speaking to a couple music lovers and even smoking a cigarette (a habit she picked up after the break up) she saw a flustered looking brunette approach her. A smile tugged at her lips when she saw the familiar face. Without thinking if it was going to be a good idea or not she pulled Rachel into a quick, yet friendly hug. ”Ready to go in?” She asked. ”I’m pretty sure the opening band just started so we haven’t missed much,” she smiled as she handed Rachel her ticket and walked towards the entrance, completely bypassing the line that was still filtering into the arena.
She wasn't ready for that, and she was definitely not ready for a hug either. Rachel sort of just awkwardly stood there, her arms hanging on her sides unable to move and hug her ex-girlfriend back. She had been the one to end their relationship a few years ago, it should be Quinn the one feeling intimidated (and perhaps a little angry) and not the other way around. But how could Rachel not to, though? Back then, she honestly believed she would be better off on her own so she could be focused on her studies and start her career. But now she was still nowhere near Broadway, and Quinn seemed to have her life put together, and honestly? Rachel felt a bit intimidated and jealous.
A quiet and shaky "Hello" managed to leave her now dry lips, but she shook her head in order t clear her mind too, and quickly offered the stunning blonde in front of her a small smile, taking the ticket she handed her and following her just a few steps behind. It amused her that they were skipping the line -- she thought that was something it only happened in movies, and it made her lips curve into a small smirk. It made her feel kind of important, okay? Don't judge her.
"Am I right to assume that Tina is already waiting for us inside?" Rachel asked in a more confident voice, still walking right behind Quinn. "I have to admit that I was a little nervous about tonight, but now that I'm here I'm really excited. As you already know, she's one of my favorite singers and I've never seen her perform live, so this is the part where I thank you for inviting me when you could have asked some of your friends." There was a pause. "Or I guess I should thank Tina's boyfriend for not being able to make it tonight, since you said he was the one originally coming with you guys..." Goodness, was she rambling already?
