My dad was an F-4 Crew Chief with the USAF 433rd TFS, 1969-'70 in Thailand. What can you tell me about the 433rd in this era? Thanks!
Part of the 8th Tactical Wing, the 433rd Tactical Fighter Squadron operated out of Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base from December 1965 until July 1974. The squadron flew McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantoms. The 433rd achieved 12 MiG kills during its deployment.
There’s not as much information as I thought there might be but I will continue looking.
Tweaking the blog(s).
I’m going to stop posting inter-war (1919-’45) stuff here and just focus on mid-century (1945-’65). If you like inter-war stuff, check out my new blog sepiadays.tumblr.com If you like pre-1919 stuff, check out steampunkwest.tumblr.com and if you’re into 1916-1953 military stuff, I also run 1953anewhope.tumblr.com
Five Facts About Me:
I was tagged by both littleladyelsie and privalla to list five facts about myself. I guess that means I’m obligated to list ten!
1) I’m a lifelong Michigander who is in the process of pulling up stakes and moving to Vermont to take my dream job in automotive journalism.
2) I’m a lifelong retrophile with an emphasis on 1920s-1960s material culture.
3) I have not personally owned a car newer than 1968 since 2009 when I sold my ‘93 Ford Escort and purchased my ‘61 Ford Falcon Futura.
4) I have owned a ‘27 Ford Model T (partial), ‘50 Studebaker Champion, the aforementioned ‘61 Falcon, a ‘62 Ford Falcon Deluxe, a ‘64 Rambler American 330, and a ‘68 Camaro. I’m now down to just the ‘62 Falcon with the Studebaker up for sale.
5) Except when traveling (stupid TSA), I shave with a single-edge safety razor from the 1930s (and modern blades).
6) I have four cats and a Great Dane.
7) I used to have pet rats and would get more if my wife wasn’t allergic.
8) I can rebuild pre-WWII windows by hand.
9) I used to smoke a pipe and loved it...probably too much.
10) In 2003 I consumed an entire bottle of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum in one evening, mixed with Vanilla Coke. I have touched neither since, and would recommend you do the same.
I am terrible about tagging people in these things, but I made a true effort this time:

Home Alone
Bored and not sleepy. Asks or messages would be welcome.

I was nominated by littleladyelsie and losing-it-lovingly to post six selfies. I'm so exhausted from digging these up that I can't even think of who to tag that hasn't yet done this. I enjoy seeing what the people behind the blogs look like, though, so I nominate ALL OF YOU!
Awesome awesome AWESOME shots of my '61 and me by losing-it-lovingly.
