✖ BIGR ✖ Theater Production Company ✖
‣ ADDRESS ↴
307 South Broadway Los Angeles, CA. 90013
‣ DETAILS ↴
Founded in the summer of 2017, the BIGR theater company was created through the collective hard work and dedication of the Salazar siblings. The company was formed with one goal in mind, making theater more accessible to not only the public but to up and coming talent. Taking up shop in the recently revived Million Dollar Theater the BIGR company saved the architecturally astounding theatre from a life as an event only space. Riding off the back of the eldest brothers successful decade-long acting career the company promises productions of Broadway standard quality for a fraction of the price. Boasting Prince Bayoa Isagani of Denmark as owner and one of the founding members, the company already proves it is not one to be ignored.

The Pressure of Days || Headcanon || Sept 16th
Bayoa roamed around the backstage area slowly. It was all here, all ready and waiting. Realistically he should already be preparing for rehearsals but instead he was left waiting. Auditions hadn’t been held yet for one reason or another. It was a stress. Money had to start coming in soon or this whole venture would have been for nothing. He was lucky his life was so in order, lucky his relationship was supportive and happy, lucky there was nothing else that needed his focus.
He’d bought the theatre because it had been left unused for so many years. The DTLATR Company had helped with some of the restorations but it was mostly just for short term use. Restorations that would help the place shine while they used the space. Bayoa had poured everything into this. He’d brought it back to life, he’d given it a purpose again. Having so many hurdles to jump over was starting to get to him. Someone had once told him he was changing the face of theatre on the West Coast but was it him or was it the company that had done that.
End of the month. He had to have cast by the end of the month or it wasn’t worth it. He had to have a cast by the end of the month or he had no show. His heart was pounding in his chest as he looked around him at what had been one of the biggest risks he had ever taken career wise. Bayoa was determined to make it work, determined to make it worth it. The world had its eyes on him. He couldn’t fail at this, not when he was trying to set an example for his son. Determination and perseverance were two things Salazars knew well.
Certain As The Sun || Headcanon || July 2017
"Bayoa! This is a big undertaking for a first time director aren’t you worried you’ve invested in a failed venture?” Bayoa turned his head in the direction of the reporter who had asked, cameras clicked at the change of position. The question was a rather rude one. They expected him to fail. He was a nobody till he married Kailani or at least he was a nobody to them. All they saw was a man scrambling to make a name for himself but Bayoa knew the truth of the matter and so did his family. That’s all that mattered.
“I’m not a first time director.” Bayoa corrected and a couple of people laughed at the reporters mistake. “Is it a risky move? Possibly but isn’t this exactly the city for it? Too long theatre has been cast aside for the grandeur of cinema. As an actor I can appreciate what film brings to our lives but I have big Hollywood actor friends who love the raw intensity that comes with theatre. They love being able to feel the energy of their audience right there in the room with them.” It had gone a little quiet as people started to really listen to him.
“When I came to this country over a decade ago I had no intention of staying in LA. My eyes were set on New York like every other theatre actor. I wanted Broadway. By stroke of luck I got my first acting job here. The scene was no where near what it is now but I found a home in the theatre district. Life long friends and allies. Suddenly Broadway wasn’t my only option. Suddenly the idea that we could bring new life into this city came about. You’ve all seen it yourselves. In the past 5 years alone theatre has been thriving here. I won’t take the credit for that because it’s through the effort of hundreds of people that citizens of Los Angeles and further are starting to take notice.”
Bayoa motioned to the newly revived theatre around the looking just as grand as any on Broadway. “This is my contribution. Paid for with my own money, the last few cheques I had as an actor, all going into this. This is a theatre that will house an acting company. Continuous shows. Four a year. We’ll offer Shakespeare, musicals, dramas, comedies, greek tragedies. We’ll offer it all and at a rate that people can afford. I know how much it costs to run a theatre. I know how much it costs to put on a show and pay your actors. Profit is always something to want but when does profit become greed. The people of our country are desperate to love theatre again and i’m here to give it to them at a price that won’t break the bank.”
