The Big Texan Steakhouse was packed when we arrived in Amarilli on a Saturday night. It was actually overflowing. When the hostess told us that we had to wait 90min to get seated we turned around as one and left. We had enough of queues at Disney. But determined to try the world famous steak we were back for breakfast the next day. The food was OK and the service a bit slow, but the place is so interesting and full of history that it's worth a visit; especially if you think you can take on their 72oz steak challenge. You must finish the whole meal, including all the sides, in an hour to get the meal for free and earn a place on their wall of honor. The steak alone is do-able, but the potato, bread, salad and all that is for big eaters. The record holder did it in something silly like 5min! Unbelievable, but true. If you can't finish the challenge it costs you $72. 60 000 people have taken on the challenge so far and 9000 have done it.
