Throughout 2018, I’ve discovered many new artists (new to me), one of which is @BigWeirdCow on Twitter, AKA facerot. They have a great talent for drawing monsters practically covered in warts & other blemishes. One of their OCs, Izzy, is a huge, powerful crime lord who rules the sewers w/ an iron, hungry fist. His crookedly dark world inspired me to try my own sewer mutant, Helen.
Helen is an overly cautious sewer monster who typically tries to stay in her little corner of the sewer where the sun is the brightest. I might use her in a future short story of mine, The War Dolls, about a set of sentient dolls built during World War Three, who venture into the world to find their intended owner to make happy.
