songs I really enjoy listening to as I bike to work/through old port/while high/to a friend’s house
this is mostly for self-documentation purposes so I can look back on this in a few months/years and listen to these songs and feel transported to the mindset I’ve been in recently
foreword: this is my first summer/time ever living alone. i’ve found a lot of solace in confiding in old favourites and kitschy pop sounds, as well as music that brings me back to a place I never was (aka my mom’s faves when she was 20ish). really visceral, tangible sounds that contain many layers to be uncovered with every listen have been especially wonderful to listen to, during both long and short bike rides alike. after months of feeling creatively stifled, these songs have grounded me and have been a wicked backdrop for what has felt like one of the most formative months of my life.
