Pluto readers: I need your help!

The time has come for me to write a chapter about Dumbledore’s funeral ceremony. I have always headcannoned that Tonks and Lupin hadn’t got back together at that point. I wrote them as only getting together at the wake. So how and why did they end up holding hands at the ceremony? I’ve been pondering this for YEARS and am stuck, so I’m crowdsourcing: What do YOU think? How did exes whose last interaction was a tense argument in a hospital, end up holding hands at Albus Dumbledore’s funeral
