I have a character who wears bikini armour for two main reasons
She powerful enough to not need bulky armour
she just likes it. It fits for the type of character that she is, and I can’t possibly imagine her wearing anything else

Finished the second champion for my Escher gang at the weekend. Stripes to tie in with Krokodil. Who says that Escher have to wear bikini armour to look kick-ass? 😀
On bikini armour and redesigns
So a recent post had me thinking...
The ting with redesings that change a skimpy clothing to more modest is that as artist they are allowd to create them, after all if there is anything we’ve learned about Zamii debacle is that every artist is entitled to their own rendition of a character, we can’t go arround saying that people have the right to draw and paint Garnet as a light-skinned blonde but then we terd down these redesigns because they are not like the orginal.
On the other hand many times the motivation of these redesigns is not exploration and creativity but an atempt to make a political statement, most ofen than not that the original design is not adequate and it’s just like this to pander to a male stright audience, whereas their more modest design is far more empowering and adequate.
So I guess that at the end what is reproachable is the intent but not the design (leaving aside, of course, any kind of critique related to the redesing ans as an artwork).
