I think my sunflower is quite literally trying to reach the sun
I thought I lost my big beautiful garden spider during the microburst last week, she wasn’t in her usual spot, and I mourned her and went about things. This morning I was out in the garden picking tepary beans and I saw THE BIGGEST FUCKING WEB EVER and knew she was back and y’all…..she’s back with a VENGEANCE!! Like seriously, she was easy to spot because she had a MASSIVE bee wrapped up in the center of her web and was chowing the FUCK down. I couldn’t get my stupid loaner camera to focus, and by the time I did, she had paused her eating because what the fuck is the giant thing with way too few eyes doing THIS TIME (her thoughts I’m sure). I still got a video and photo, not as clear as I’d like, and I had to straddle a basil bush and a dead sunflower, but it was just so cool I wanted everyone to see. She’s fucking huge and gorgeous and I appreciate her audacity in building her massive webs right out in the open, like a fucking challenge to all the birds around here.

Was talking gardening in the moms chat this morning and wanted to show everyone my dill plant that has gone to seed and is now taller than I am, and ended up taking the most dramatic ass, John Woo-esque picture of a dove instead
Like honestly, ma’am, was that necessary?
My kid likes when I make edible bouquets from my garden. Not everything is edible but there are i’itoi onions and dill in there and I guarantee you this will be decimated ten minutes after he walks in the door and his breath is gonna smell REAL WEIRD.

Look at my cute little baby coming up!! There’s some cabbage and kale and collard sprouts in the back, but we know who the real star of the show is. Mary.
