HEY FAM! Chapter Three of Because I Love Her can be found HERE! Hope you enjoy! (Sorry it’s taken forever! Lemme know what you think!!)
From her vantage point, at the very top of the slide, Caroline gazed forlornly down at her step-brothers, as they laughed and shouted inside jokes at one and other.
She wished she could join in.
It was Stefan who first suggested the three of them walk the 500 yards or so to the playground at the end of the street, she had jumped at the chance. Anything to get involved with her new brothers' antics. Liz had encouraged them, as she stroked her new husband's leg, saying that fresh air and time out of the house was always good. When they had reached the place, however, Damon had immediately initiated a game of pirates, which Caroline was not allowed to be a part of.
"There has never been a girl pirate, Caroline," he spat, nastily, while Stefan watched on, helplessly. "And even if there was, she wouldn't be as annoying as you!"
She tried not to cry, she really did, but a few stubborn tears managed to work their way down her cheeks as the two boys scampered off to begin playing. She'd always imagined having brothers and sisters would be wondrous, but now she wasn't so sure.
Because I Love Her - Chapter Two: 13 Years Ago - The Suitcase
Oh my gosh, it only took me like a month, but here’s the next part, of the arranged marriage fic I started during AU week. This ep is quite slow, and very Caroline centric, but hopefully you can bear with me. IF you have any questions about the convoluted backstory, let me know! :D

Perched on the foot of the unfamiliar bed, Caroline stared, unblinkingly, at the suitcase neatly standing by door. The itchy, glittery silver dress her mother had forced her into scratched her sensitive skin while she waited quietly.
Before a year ago, the bright pink suitcase had been cause for excitement. It hailed time with just her parents, where she would feel like the luckiest, most cherished little girl in the world. No business, no meetings, no being left with the nannies, just uninterrupted mommy-daddy-Caroline time. They had been to Spain, Thailand, Martha's Vineyard, China, Switzerland, even Disney Land!
But that had all changed now. It wasn't just her and her parents anymore. It was her, her parents, her mom's new husband, her two step brothers, and her dad's new partner.
Staring at the suitcase that cold winter's night, she didn't feel like the luckiest girl in the world anymore, she just felt like a burden.
one moment you are thinking most earnestly about the most important scholarly problems, how you will devote your life to them, and the next moment you are a lovesick fool.

I'm sorry for any grammer errors, remember that I'm not English! Make sure to tell me so that I know it when I wake up!
Because I love him – Chapter 2
The rest of the week was quite peaceful – really. Louis didn't get detention for once (Looked like the teachers were in such good moods or something) and things seemed okay with Harry, after the threats on Monday. Louis had given him a small smile when he'd seen him the next day and Harry had smiled back at him, but then he had quickly looked down again. God he was shy. So, that was practically the only contact the two boys had exchanged.
On Friday night, Louis drove to his parents house at the other side of the city. His parents had invited him to come over and stay for the weekend, and, seeing that Louis didn't have something better to do, and that he quite missed his family, he'd agreed to come over.
He smiled as he saw his little sisters behind the window when he stepped out of the car, their noses pressed against the cold glass and searching for Louis. When they spotted him, their faces totally cheered up and they immediately disappeared behind the curtains. Louis guessed that they were running to open the door for him, and when the door opened, he saw indeed the happy faces of his little sisters and he couldn't hold back a huge grin on his face.
“Hey loves,” he said when Phoebe and Daisy jumped into his arms, embracing him like he'd been away for months. That wasn't exactly true. Louis just lived on the other side of the city, but he sometimes just didn't see them for a while. And, honestly, it had been a while actually.
“Louis! Louis!” Daisy exclaimed, and Louis pulled back to run a hand through her blond hair. “Yes?”
“Look! Look!” The little girl held up her index finger; it had a plaster around it. Louis eyes widened and he pretended to be shocked. “What did you do, Dais?” he asked, looking at it. “I cut my finger when I was cutting an apple!” Daisy explained. Phoebe sighed. “You shouldn't have gone and cut it yourself! You should've waited for Mummy to come home!”
“Stay out of my business!” Daisy answered, an annoyed, stubborn look upon her face. Louis grinned a bit. His sisters really were adorable.
The next moment, the door of the living room opened and Jay appeared. She smiled when she saw Louis. “Darling!”
Louis smiled as he hugged his mum. “Hey mum,” he said, glad to see her after like, a month. “You look good,” he smiled. “Thanks babe,” Jay grinned, patting Louis gently on his head.
Louis followed his mother into the living, his little sisters leading him to it by grabbing each one of his hands and pulling him with them. He found his dad and Felicity in the living, but Lottie was nowhere to be seen. He hugged them, before he asked where his other sister was. “She's upstairs,” Jay said. “Is she alright?” Louis frowned. Jay smiled. “She's kind of sick. Fever I think. She'll be alright. Why don't you go bring her a cup of soup, she'd love to see you...”
Louis nodded and Jay walked to the kitchen, pouring the almost-boiling soup into a cup and placing it on a tray, which she handed to Louis. He smiled at her, before turning around and walking up the stairs of his old home, the house where he'd grown up and lived in until his 18th.
He knocked softly on the open door, sticking his head into the room of his 13 year old- sister.
“Hey Lottie,” he whispered, finding out that she was just waking up. “Louis?” it sounded sleepily, and then, again, this time a bit more loud and quite hysterical, honestly, “Louis?!?!” Lottie sat up, much too fast cause she immediately grabbed her head. Louis smiled and placed the tray on the night stand next to Lottie's bed, and he sat down on the bed next to his sister. “It's me!” he grinned, and he pulled his sister into his chest, stroking her hair a few times. “How do you feel?” he asked then, smiling as he felt Lottie's arms tightly around him. “Terrible. Horrible. Awful,” she answered, pouting. “Well not for long!” Louis smiled, pointing at the soup. “I've brought you soup.” He took the cup and handed it to her. She curled her fingers around it, obviously happy with the warmth it offered. Lottie brought the cup to her lips, but then she hesitated and she pulled a grimace. “You didn't make it?”
Louis opened his mouth, but then closed it and opened it again. “Hey! I'm not that terrible of a cook since I live on my own, Lottie!” Louis said, pretending to be offended by her. She giggled and Louis grinned as she brought the cup to her lips and blew on it.
“How are you, Lou?” she asked, before sipping carefully on the tea. Louis looked at her. “Good,” he answered. He smiled and she nodded.
“I miss you.”
Louis swallowed. I miss you. He smiled at her. “I miss you too, love.” Louis reached out his hand and ruffled in through the hair of his eldest younger sister. She placed the cup on the night stand when it was empty, and scooted over a bit, looking at Louis with questioning eyes. He stood up and sat down on her bed, next to her. Lottie pressed herself against Louis' chest, and he wrapped his arms around her. She hid her face into Louis' arms. “I hate it that we don't see each other so often,” she added. “I know. I hate it too, babe. But we're gonna do something about it, okay? I promise. When you're healthy again, you can come to me. And you can always stay over, you know that, right? Just call if you want to.”
She nodded, too tired to say anything to her brother. “Okay.” Louis pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “Now sleep, you have to get better.” She smiled and yawned. Louis stayed until Lottie had fallen asleep. He glanced at the clock: It was only 9.
He carefully let go of his sister, tucking her in and pressing a kiss on her forehead, before he took the cup, the tray and he walked out, turning off the light. “Good night, Lottie,” he whispered, before closing the door behind him.
When he came downstairs, Felicity was just leaving and taking the girls with her. Louis smiled at them, kissing them good night, and then he finally could actually relax.
When he and Jay sat alone in the room, she looked at him. “How are you, darling?” Louis looked back at her, and he smiled. “Good,” he said. Jay nodded. “Everything?” “Everything. I'm fine, everything's fine.”
Jay nodded, although she didn't seem completely convinced and Louis wasn't really sure about himself.
Louis must admit that he was pretty tired, and not long after that he stood up, said his good nights to his parents, and he walked back up to his old room. He laid down and curled himself up, closing his eyes. He'd talk some more with the girls tomorrow.

The weekend at his parents had been nice. Peaceful. And it had been just what Louis had needed; just a weekend away from his friends, away from his house, and away from all his messy thoughts, which he seemed to have lost in his old house. Because lately, things in Louis' head were messy. About himself, about his friends, and about his image on school. And he had no idea why, how and when, but he certainly didn't like it.
-
On Monday, Zayn didn't show up in the first hour. Louis expected him to be late again, but when Zayn still wasn't there 30 minutes after the start of school, Louis texted him. He held his phone under the table and glanced every now and then at his teacher.
From: Louis
To: Zayn (9:40)
Ey you tosser, wake up, weekend's over!
To: Zayn (9:44)
Zayn?
To: Zayn (9:53)
Zayn, I know you're there. Reply, you idiot.
But nothing. No reply. In between his lessons, Louis called Zayn 2 times, but he still didn't get any reaction that he was alive, or even up.
To: Zayn (10:11)
Zayn, call me when you see this, ok?
Louis finally heard something, after morning break.
From: Zayn
To: Louis (11:12)
Fucking sick man. Fever. Don't count on me next few days, I'm sleeping or probably dead.
Louis frowned, and he let out a chuckle. Zayn, sick? Sounded as a I-don't-feel-like-going-to-school-so-I-am-sick-to-death trick to Louis. He'd visit Zayn after school.
Louis glanced at his watch, his next lesson was English. He walked to the class, feeling a bit awkward because normally, he had Zayn with him to fuck up the lesson. Not that he was lost without his best friend, it was just that it was weird without him. Zayn and Louis were pretty loud when they were together, but on their own they were kind of silent.
Louis entered the classroom, noticing that he was the first student. He greeted his teacher, Mr. Casey, by nodding to him. His classmates slowly dripped in, greeting the teacher, Louis and finding their seats. When they asked where Zayn was, Louis half-smiled that he was sick, being annoyed on the inside. He missed his best mate, honestly.
Louis' attention was wakened by a certain curly-haired boy that entered the classroom as last. He looked into the classroom from under his curls.
“Mr Styles, you can take a seat next to Mr. Tomlinson,” Louis heard Casey say, and he looked at him with wide eyes. When he looked at Harry, he saw that he did the same.
“We're going to do a project and you'll have to form pairs. It's easier if you already sit in pairs,” the teacher explained, before clapping his hands to get the attention of the whole class. Harry sat down next to Louis, not looking at him once. Louis bit his lip. What was wrong with Harry? Louis got along with almost everyone in school, and he liked most of the people, but Harry...Harry was just a weird one. Zayn had been quite right.
“Okay, so this project will take the full next month. You'll be working on it now, but not in the lessons. You will have to do it with eachother, in your own time. For questions, you can always ask or mail me. I'm gonna give you basic stencils that you'll need, but you have to do it on your own for the rest,” the man told them, before taking a bunch of papers with him and giving them to his students. Louis looked at Harry. So they were supposed to work together.
“Oh, start as soon as you can, because this is much work, guys,” their teacher told them. Louis turned a bit to Harry, watching him. “So...” he said, his voice hoarse. He cleared his throat and glanced at the stencils, realizing that he had been so obsessively staring at Harry, that the explanation about the project hadn't reached his ears or his brain.
He looked at the front page of the papers.
“Everything about...”
Everything about? Everything about? He opened the stencil and started to read.
“In this project, you're going to make a work that will tell the reader everything about any of the subjects that are given here. You can choose from:”
Louis' eyes wandered over the subjects. He sighed, but then he spotted the word “London.” “London!” he whispered excitedly into Harry's direction, “Let's pick London!”
Harry nodded to him. “Y-yeah, that's okay,” he answered, playing with his bracelet nervously. Louis' arm punched into the air. “Harry and I are picking London, sir!” he exclaimed after the teacher had asked him what he wanted. The teacher nodded, and he noted Louis and Harry's names, and their subject.
“I would start the project this afternoon if I were you,” Mr. Casey warned, “It really takes much time. And if I were you, guys..”, he looked at Harry and Louis, “I would surely go and visit London. You can get much information there.”
Louis caught Harry's eyes. “Can we work on it after school? I've got nothing then...” Harry nodded. “I'll have to go home first though,” he said softly. “Oh?”
It sounded more curious than Louis had wanted to, and he swallowed. “Y-yeah, I h-have to...do something,” Harry said.
“Can't you do it later?” Louis asked.
Harry shook his head.
“And can't you..call?”
“I don't have my phone with me..” Harry avoided Louis' eyes.
“You can use mine..” Louis pushed.
“No! No uh...I r-really have to go home first.”
Harry looked at Louis with wide eyes. Louis bit his lip, a bit startled at Harry's determination.
“Okay..” he mumbled. “If it's that important, okay..Can you come over at 3 then?”
Harry nodded silently. “Okay. Okay, I'll see you then.” Louis wrote his address on a piece of paper, and he gave it Harry, who took in and shoved it in his pocket.
“S-see you later, Louis.”
“Later, Harry.”
-
At 2, Louis was done and he walked home. It had been a quite nice day, although Zayn hadn't been there. Zayn suddenly popped into Louis' mind when he was walking home. He'd visit him tomorrow, because, referring to his texts, he wouldn't be there tomorrow either.
Louis sighed as he entered his home. He started to clean up a bit, and when he was done, he flopped down on his couch, turning on the TV, not watching it.
-
Harry arrived at 5 to 3, and Louis smiled at him when he saw him. He honestly looked completely adorable, beanies hiding his curly hair, and a shy smile on his lips.
“Hey Harry,” Louis smiled.
“H-hey Lou,” Harry breathed quietly. “-is,” he added at the last moment, only then realizing that he had given Louis a nickname already. Louis chuckled a bit, letting him in. “Everything okay?”
“Y-yeah, everything's fine,” Harry answered, hanging up his jacket. Louis nodded. “Good. You want some soda?” Harry nodded. “S-sure.”
Louis smiled a bit. “You don't need to be so nervous babe, it's not like I'm gonna attack you,” he commented, patting Harry's shoulder gently. Harry blushed. “N-nervous? H-how do you know I'm nervous?”
“Well it's pretty obvious. You're blushing, Harry, and you're stuttering.”
Harry looked at him and he bit his lip. “I-is it that obvious?” he almost whispered. Louis nodded. “Don't. Don't be so nervous. Everything's okay, remember? Everything's fine.”
Louis swallowed. He knew he only said that to convince himself too.
