My Bi Icons

I hate hearing that bisexuals aren’t real (ahh yes bi people don't exist they are mythical creatures.) Or bi people are the worst type of person to date... But let’s not get into that right now, tonight I want to appreciate three bi icons that have influenced me and how they stood up for the minorities in different ways. By either being the first woman to wear a suit on the screen and kissing a girl. Or by leaving her country because of the injustices she had to face, lack of opportunity to be what you want to be but, finally reaching stardom in France while also becoming a spy. And lastly, challenging politics with your beliefs, writing poetry, and painting with the point of view of a woman.

Even though I missed Pride this year, I'm still feeling it! Today is Bisexuality Visability day and I am here, I am bi, and I'm never going to shut up about it. For me, identifying as bisexual is the way I feel most full. Coming to this conclusion 9 years ago and starting the process of coming out, set me on course to become the most true self I could be. Being a part of the queer community has given me a confidence high school me could never have dreamed of and a positive view of myself that middle school me never believed would happen. I will always be out, I will always be visible and I will always be bi.
