Art by Bill Phillips
Christine (1983)
Unpopular nerd Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon) buys a 1958 Plymouth Fury, which he names Christine. Arnie develops an unhealthy obsession with the car, to the alarm of his jock friend, Dennis Guilder (John Stockwell). After bully Buddy Repperton (William Ostrander) defaces Christine, the auto restores itself to perfect condition and begins killing off Buddy and his friends. Determined to stop the deaths, Dennis and Arnie's girlfriend, Leigh Cabot (Alexandra Paul), decide to destroy Christine.

"I understand, um... one of the perpetrators, uh, defecated on the dashboard. Now, I would've thought you'd be madder than hell at that, and I woulda thought you would've reported that."
"Shit wipes off."
"Moochie Wells kinda got wiped off too, didn't he?"
"I don't know."
"You don't know?"
"No."
"Scout's honour?"
"I'm not a scout."
"The kid was cut in half, Arnie. They had to scrape his legs up with a shovel."
"Well, isn't that what you're supposed to do with shit? Scrape it up with a little shovel?"

#OnThisDay in @chicagocubs history ▸ Third baseman Tom Burns and catcher Malachi Kittridge both hit grand slams off of the Pittsburgh Alleghenys’ right-handed rookie, Bill ‘Silver Bill’ Phillips, in the bottom half of the Colts’ 18-5 win, marking the first time in @mlb history one pitcher allowed two grand slams in the same inning...
The feat won’t be replicated until 1999, when the @ladodgers’ pitcher, Chan Ho Park, gives up two grand slams, but Park has the distinction of giving up both bases-full homers to the same batter, Fernando Tatis of the @stlcardinals.
August 16, 1890 Bill Phillips becomes the first pitcher to allow two grand slams in the same inning, when Tom Burns and Malachi Kittridge both take the Alleghenys’ right-hander deep in the same frame of an 18-5 loss to the Chicago Colts. In 1999, Chan Ho Park will match the dubious feat, but will have the distinction of giving up both grand slams to the same batter, Fernando Tatis of the Cardinals.
