As a book advertised for children it is a travesty. I have not found an adult who would purchase this for children. It was so disturbing I eliminated it from my library so my grandson of three would not accidentally find it. My husband and daughter agreed, it had to go. I appreciate the incredible artwork. It was so lifelike the images seemed to float on air. However, l do not think this author should be allowed to influence the dreams of a 3 year old or a 65 year old.

Labbit Reads: Chalk

Today Labbit is reading about a giant plastic dinosaur. I mean Chalk by Bill Thomson.

"Look, I'm in a puddle!"

"Shhh ... I'm up in a tree, watching some kids."

No he's not. Actually he's reading about three kids who stumble upon a bag full of magic chalk. Whatever they draw comes to life!

Yay! Butterflies!

Oh no! The book has come to life! Run, Labbit!!

Just kidding. That's Bruiser, my T-rex, who's actually pretty friendly. (Mostly. He ate an origami bat once.) He's excited to see a T-rex that looks just like him in this book.

We love this book because there are no words, just incredibly beautiful detailed colorful pictures! Bill Thomson is an amazing artist - I could stare at the folds in the kids' raincoats or the girl's braids all day.

Labbit was excited to find out that this dinosaur actually exists! Too bad I don't know of one nearby. We'll have to keep our eyes open. Labbit would love to ride one!
