R.I.P. to James Carter Cathcart/Jimmy Zoppi/Billy Beach
Hello! I just wanted to take a moment to make a tribute post to the recently deceased James Cathcart, who was the voice of not only iconic Pokemon characters like James, Meowth, and Gary Oak. But for also being the English voice for all three stages of the Torterra line in the anime.
I know it's pretty late to make a post like this. But I feel as a Turtwig fan blog, I felt it would be a disservice to not take a moment to pay tribute to the man who gave life to my very first starter and one of my favorite pokemon of all time.
Thank You Jimmy! Your work will always be remembered and adored. May you rest in peace.

Why I love sunrise weddings.
Beach weddings are fantastic, they can be as formal or informal as you like. Anything from tuxedos to board shorts. The dress? Anything from a large wedding gown to a little tea length slip-on. Super easy and casual. The problem with beach weddings is that most beaches are public. Sure, people are usually nice and they'll move to accommodate a wedding ceremony, but not everyone will cooperate, sometimes they'll stay near the wedding just to be annoying. Parking can be expensive for your guests, as some beaches, charge a hefty fee for parking. Unless you know someone with a private strip of beach or you rent a venue with their own beach such as the Oak Island Golf Club, you're going to have deal with beachgoers. There is a solution although not always a popular one. A sunrise wedding. All the aforementioned problems go away. Parking is free, beaches are uncrowded and everything is fresh. The problem is that its sunrise. You have to be up early and your guests have to be up early. I've heard complaints such as "I'm not a morning person" or "I'll have sleep lines on my face." Not to worry, there is a solution. "Don't' go to sleep". Seriously just stay up all night or take a nap until midnight, get up and get going. Do or have your hair done. Drink a couple cups of coffee, have a snack, the same things you'd do at a daylight wedding only a little earlier. :). "But what about my guests?" Yes, your guest list will be a little smaller, as not everyone will be willing to get up that early. But look at the bright side, the people who show up really want to be there and you have fewer people to entertain. You can still have a reception, my favorite is after the wedding go to a restaurant (private room) and have breakfast. You can cut a giant muffin for your cake, do first dances, drink mimosas or bloody mary's and hang out for an hour or two. Then you catch your flight to the Carribean (for example) and grab some sleep on the plane. In the morning your single, by that night your on the honeymoon. Very efficient and romantic. Another option would be to have the wedding at sunrise with your closest friends and have a larger reception that afternoon or even in the evening. No rules, do it your way. Don't believe me? If you live near the beach or even a lake, get up one morning at sunrise and check out the world, it's beautiful with all sorts of possibilities.
A Stormy Ad-Lib Wedding in Surf City, Topsail Island, NC.
Part of my continuing effort to showcase weddings in Wilmington and area beaches. This was a very ad-lib wedding on a Friday, around noon, it rained on and off all morning and they decided at the last minute to change locations and do the wedding inside the surf center instead of the beach. She had some older folks with her and walking in the sand would have been hard, so she made her decision and it worked out. As soon as the wedding was over the skies cleared a bit but it was extremely windy. There were only about 20 people in attendance so we did some shots indoors and then went out the beach to get some romantic shots. All in all a successful wedding.
Margaret Bourke White: Portrait of Myself
Just finished Portrait of Myself. Great book about an incredible photographer truly motoivates me. Found it at this really cool building where if you show a little plastic card they let you borrow it for free. Something called a Library. Margaret Bourke White came of age in the twenties. Within 10 years she was a well know photographer, in another 10 years she was a household name. Strarting w/ Industrial Photographs in Cincinatti Ohio, she caught the eye of a new magazine entitled "Fortune". She traveled around the country photographing industry and was soon the first Western Photographer allowed into the Soviet Union to photograph the Five Year Plan. When "Life Magazine" was launched in 1936 she was hired as one of the four original photographers. It was her photo that graced the first cover. She was a combat correspondent in WWII photographing North Africa and the Italian Campaigns. She even flew on a bomber run which was a big deal for any photographer let alone a female in 1943. After the war she went to India to photograph Gandhi and was the last person to interview him before he was assasinated in 1948. During the Korean war she photographed South Korean Guerillas as she felt this was an aspect of the war being ignored. Amazing Photographer, Amazing Woman. Check out the URL for more.
