Billy Wright (1918-1991) solo Songs: "Hey Little Girl," "Have Mercy Baby" Propaganda: "he was one of little richards biggest style influences and helped him with everything from hair & makeup to persona to even helping him get his first recording session! he was a dancer and did performances in drag in tent shows before focusing on singing and was openly gay as a black man in the south at least as early as the 40s, he was a hugely important figure in post ww2 blues and i think itd be a shame if he was the only one of the peak style trifecta (him, Esquerita and Little Richard) that didn't make it in here!"

For @ronnie-woody
An excellent song from Billy Wright, a tent show Queen.
Whoo child it’s the birthday of Richard Wayne Penniman (born December 5, 1932-May 9,2020) known as Little Richard! He is best known for his elaborate piano playing skills and wild onstage performances on stage in the realms of rock and roll, r&b, soul, and gospel. His attire on stage was elaborate as performances. He originally wanted to be a minister but had a change of heart when he fell in love with music and performing. Little Richard is a major fixture in the shaping of early rock and roll and r&b. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 as part of its first inductees. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2015, the National Museum of African American Music honored Little Richard with a Rhapsody & Rhythm Award for his role in the formation of popular music genres and in helping break up racial divisions in the music industry. He and his music have appeared in various films and television Little, Unfortunately, he was one of the stars we last this year. He will be missed by family and fans.
