Klance Reunion :D

Hi! I saw your post about Keith, and I agree with you! Tho I do think that clothes shouldn't be gendered and I don't see any problem with any of them wearing whatever ppl want them to wear... stereotypes such as the ones you mentioned are really damaging. But I've seen it happen a lot with Lance too, even though lately the cases with Keith have been tagged a lot more. Anyways, just wanted to say that its not only keith that gets that treatment. sorry for reaching out to you all of a sudden!
Nah it’s fine, I’m glad you reached out :) I agree with you about the clothes thing, that they should be without genders. Oh, that would be a perfect world.
My problem is that when Keith or Lance or usually any other boy wears these clothes, their personality also changes. It’s a bit more understandable with Lance wearing them because he’s pretty self-confident and could rock it with ease, but it’s a bit different with the mullet boy.
Keith is more of a manly dudebro than Lance, so when people have him in theses clothes, he takes more of a, for lack of a better word, traditionally feminine personality and archetype. He usually turns into the sexy succubus, the stereotypical gay man or a complete and utter b***h. O course, there’s nothing wrong with a man taking feminine archetypes, just as much as there isn’t vice versa - it just kinda annoys me that people can’t have a manly dudebro like Keith in a crop top without making him more feminine, like making him skinnier and more girl-like (I know people have their creative freedoms, but this doesn’t prevent them from irking me). I guess there maybe bigger problems at hand when people can’t perceive someone manly in a crop top and short shorts, and can’t make a character gay without turning him into an archetype.
Of course not every person changes his personality with his clothes, but enough do that it’s noticeable for me. It’s just, when people often take away a characters personality to fit their mold, they often take away everything that is that character to the point where the character isn’t actually themselves anymore and that saddens me.
Also, I honestly think they only reason some people make Keith the submissive uke in quite a few cases is because he’s shorter than Lance XD I’m just imagining if the character designers made Keith taller than Lance and how that would change the way people perceive the ship.
Sorry for the rambles and thanks for the comment :)
