Pairing: Billy Hargrove x Reader
Authors note: This is my first ever Drabble. I’ve wanted to start writing for so long so here’s some soft-ish Billy for you.

The first time you had been behind the wheel of his precious blue Camaro, had been after a rager. Billy had gotten so badly drunk that he could barely speak. He of course would never admit to being wasted. “I’m fine babe” he’d slur in your direction as you struggled to walk him to his car. “I can drive myself home” he muttered as his eyes slowly began closing on the walk to his car.
You had managed to finally get him in the car and grab the keys from his front jean pocket. You turned to look at your boyfriend in the passenger seat and he was snoring, cheek against the glass and legs wide open. You put the seat belt over his body and then you buckled yours. You turned the car on and took a deep breath. “I can do this” you whispered to yourself.
You put the car in gear and felt it jolt forward. You looked over and Billy was still snoring. It had taken what felt like hours, but in reality was twenty minutes, to get him to your house. There was only a minor dent in the car from you trying to turn into your driveway and accidentally getting a little too close to your mailbox. However, what you called a success Billy called a crime against his baby. After that night, he vowed he would teach you to drive.
That’s how you ended up here, in his precious baby, with Billy yelling for you to stop. You hit the brakes as fast as you could and watched as he slid forward, hand clutching on to his seat belt. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry” you kept chanting as he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. Billy truly tried to remain calm, he didn’t know if he was more worried about you getting hurt or his car. He let out a frustrated groan and then looked at you “it’s fine” he said through his teeth. “Just— go slowly” and you tried your hardest to obey what he said.
It took some weeks before you were driving at a comfortable speed, without Billy basically crying with fear. Every time you’d finish a lesson, he’d make sure to praise you. He’d hug you tightly and then thank god that it was over. He wasn’t a bad teacher, he was just an easily frustrated one. Once he thought you were ready he took you to take your test. “I can’t do this” you wiped your hands on your pants for the hundredth time. Your palms were sweaty and your leg couldn’t stop shaking as you sat there waiting for your name to be called. “Hey, hey look at me” Billy placed his hand under your chin pulling your face softly to look at him “You got this princess. We’ve practiced, I even let you drive the camaro every now and then. Do you think I would do that if I didn’t think you were ready?” Billy could be so sweet when he wanted to be. Under that hard player exterior was a huge teddy bear that just craved closeness. “Y/N” a deep voice called. “She’s here! And she’s gonna MAKE THIS TEST HER BITCH” Billy would yell as your cheeks got bright red. You’d stand and go to take your test.
You came out 25 minutes later and looked at your feet as you solemnly made your way to Billy. He’d immediately walked over to you and wrapped his arms tightly around your torso, “It’s okay. You can take it again. That dumbass instructor probably can’t even drive right. Screw him princess. We’ll try again” he’d go off on a rant trying to soothe you thinking you failed. “I passed” you mumble into his shirt. He’d hold you at arms length and stare at you with wide eyes “you what?” He asked skeptically.
“I passed” you shrug your shoulders nonchalantly. Billy’s face broke into a smile and he lifted you by the waist, spinning you around.
“I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!” He’d yell into your neck as he began peppering kisses all over your neck and face. “We have to celebrate” he’d suddenly realize.
“What did you have in mind?” You’d ask with a soft smile as you both made your way to his car.
“I think you know exactly what I have in mind,” he said with a smirk as he tossed you his keys and got into the car. As you drove back home in his camaro he wouldn’t stop smiling at you and yelling “MY GIRLFRIEND PASSED HER EXAM WOOOOOO” out the window. Your cheeks would stay a permanent shade of red, but you’d look over and smile because Billy may be a big loud idiot, but he was your big loud idiot.
