more on the "me trying again to study with the Open University" saga - in my most recent emails with the nice education advisor (who's helping me get taken off their naughty step so I can start studying in October), we'd been discussing how I want to do a combo of creative writing and french studies
anyway I just casually mentioned to him that I'll be contacting the french studies team nearer the time (I won't actually start on the french part until autumn next year) to ask them about their marking policy for nonbinary students - who, if asked to write about themselves (or anyone else nonbinary) will likely be using the gender-neutral pronouns and grammatical agreements that are currently evolving in the french language, and which the famously bigoted and misogynistic and transphobic old fuckers at l'Académie Française (who get to decide what is Official French) are of course strenuously resisting
I'm really looking forward to setting the cat among those particular pigeons
