Again, another simple explanation of what Binding Vow is:
Can a binding vow is made for themself? If yes how's that work?
Yes, actually many jujutsushi uses self-binding vow to increase the power of their technique. Basically, they exchange some kind of "weakness" for stronger technique. The most common one is divulging your technique to the enemy. Many jujutsushi apply this binding vow in exchange for stronger technique.
One of unique examples is Nanami. The official fanbook explained that he uses a binding vow for his Overtime Work technique. In normal hours, Nanami only uses around 80-90% of his power, in exchange he can use up to 120% of his power during overtime. Another example is Sukuna's domain expansion in Shibuya
By creating an escape route from his expanded domain, he can increase the strength and effectiveness of his own domain (and thank to this particular binding vow, Inumaki can escape the domain expansion, when usually it would be impossible)
Is it revealed what is the punishment of breaking a binding vow in jjk? it looks to me that Gege could possibily took inspiration from Harry Potter where you can do a pact with another wizard and if you dont do what you promised (break the pact) you die.
No clear info, but it's pretty much equal to the promised binding vow. So it's different from one to another. For example, it is confirmed in Nanami's case; his curse technique has a binding vow that involved curse energy suppression - so he can unleash more than his maximum capacity at "overwork" time. Another example is Sukuna's binding vow with Itadori that involving him not killing people when he invoke a take over of Itadori's body for a minute. The possible implication if he breaks it is for him to never be able taking over the body again
the only way I think how RCE works in my head is if you condense CE like sugar (CE) into candy (RCE) cause I made a binding vow of being able to read the manga but unable to do basic math so like in my head this makes more sense for me. from my understanding let's put in the logic of sugar, you can't just put sugar CE on top of sugar CE, that just makes more sugar in the pile but if you multiply CE then that makes RCE and my understanding of "multiply" is if you condense this sugar CE in a melting pot (your brain) then you can make candy RCE. Yummy.
Someone pointed out the other day that Nanami invested in an expensive watch because he needs it to be accurate for his cursed technique and binding vow and I’ve been thinking about that ever since ⌚️
