Chase groaned as he fell onto the couch. It had been such a long time since he could just relax.
Bing ran into the room, grinning. “What did you do?” Chase whispered, trying not to stare at the ash covering his face.
Bing gulped. “Well, you forgot your lunch so I went to bring it to you.”
Chase sat up and blinked at Bing. “You brought your umbrella. Right?”
Bing looked at the ground. “Um about that.”
The man on the couch put his head in his hands. “I only burned a little bit, it was pretty shady,” Bing whispered.
Chase gestures for Bing to come over to him. He pulled the vampire in for a hug and sighed. “Bing you need to be safer. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Bing looked away in shame and sighed. “I’m sorry. You take such good care of me I just wanted to help. You always complain when you forget your lunch. Humans get really hungry.”
Chase laughed. “We really do. But when you get hungry you won’t shut up.”
Bing looked away. “I’m sorry.”
“Bing it’s ok. I just want you to take better care of yourself.” Chase whispered, rubbing the ash off of his boyfriend’s face.
Bing nodded. “Ok, I’ll do it for you.”
Chase shook his head. “No for you. You take care of yourself. I’ll take care of myself ok.”
Bing blinked. “Ok. Can I cuddle with you?” he whispered, blushing.
Chase laughed. “Of course.”
Bing grinned as Chase lay back down and pulled Bing onto his chest. “Yay,” the vampire whispered.
“Next time just use the umbrella.”
“Also how did you get into my office without anyone noticing?”
Chase snorted. “My coworkers don’t understand why this bat keeps trying to get into my office. They say it looks drunk and confused. It doesn't fly very well.”
Bing gasped. “How dare they.”
Chase shook his head. “You have to admit you don’t walk much better.”
Chase kissed Bing’s forehead and smiled. “I know and I love that.”
