#BingeList: Top 10 Bootyshakin-est Talking Heads Songs to Get You Through Election Night
It's election night. TVs are on, and it's pundit central.
In the spirit of civic duty, I've prepared a high octane helping of the 10 funkiest offerings from the Talking Heads discography. This is optimal for:
Soundtracking the election return coverage on mute.
Grooving while lined up at the polls with your fellow procrastinating louts.
Celebrating how smart you were to opt for early voting.
Your victory party.
Your "holy christ we lost but somehow the world must go on" coping session.
The super sparse, ultra-caffeinated groove that drives many of their best songs is, frankly, what fired up my Talking Heads binge in the first place. Add to that their low-key, anti-establishment slant (a total antidote to the flashy overspendy vapid nonsense that constituted the '80s) and I think you've got an entirely apropos Binge playlist to enjoy the big night.
Listen and love, people. And may the best man win.
