Binnie and Joey stand there, staring at them. Both of them are astounded by the information that was just stated to them.
“I’m...what?” Binnie asks, confused.
He sighs, correcting himself, “..technically, she’s after you and your sister.”
“O-Okay..” She says, still processing, “..how come you never told me this until now?” They look at each other, then back at her.
“Oh, darling, we honestly thought you knew. Didn’t Boston ever tell you?” Veronica asks and Binnie shook her head in response.
“If he did, I don’t remember it..at all..” She tells her, then looks over at Toby and asks, “..Toby, do you know why she’d be after us?” She watches him walk across the room and sits in the armchair.
“Well, according to what Boston’s told us, she’s just pissed off that our daughter...your grandmother “ruined” our family name by turning herself human,” he explains, his eyes narrow as he continues, “She has this idea that...if she kills you and Serenity that..she’s “made things right again” and it’s wrong..I’m not going to let her get her way, Binnie..” He grips tighter to the ends of the chair’s arms.
“Which is why we’re not changing you back, dear,” Veronica tells her.
Binnie looks at her as she slips her hand into Joey’s, “Is..me being a vampire really this important?” She asks, wanting to learn more.
She sighs, nodding, “I know you don’t want to hear it, but it is. You’re considered a threat to Karen..even as a young vampire in training.” She caresses her cheek, “She wants you to change back..so you can’t defend yourself or your sister, do you understand now?”
“Yes, ma’am,” Binnie says, hesitantly nodding. She goes and sits back on the couch with Joey. He lies back and rests his head in her lap and she messes with the strands of hair from his bun.
“Good,” Veronica smiles, watching them, “But we appreciate you telling us, it’s definitely something to look forward to in the future.”
“Right, so remember, your life as a vampire is temporary even if it takes longer than you’d like,” Toby assures her.
Binnie nods, a faint smile can be seen, “I will, for sure.”
Veronica peers behind her into the kitchen, seeing Mikayla and Jennifer chatting. She looks back to her husband.
“I’m going to head into the kitchen, see if I can get myself more acquainted with Ms. Knight,” she smiles, “Are you going to be alright alone with these two?”
“Yes, I’ll be fine. I promise,” he tells her, smiling. She puts her hands together, smiling.
“Alright, maybe they can tell me more about this...social media,” she says. He rolls his eyes as she turns around and heads into the kitchen.
