It had been about 20 minutes since Bennett went out on an adventure together with Razor. Worry started to grow on Fischl, they usually don't take long when going together.
‘What's taking them so long?’
Fischl never knew that these feelings of worry could grow into something more.
She was good friends together with Bennett, the female never thought that she'd gain a little crush.
The silence in the office she was staying in was deafening. Her foot bouncing up and down anxiously as she continued to wait for the two.
It was an empty office, but it held their endearing memories together.
After some time, the door clicked open.
"Oh, Fischl, you're here?" He smiled in Fischl's direction, green eyes catching his own. It was Bennett, covered in bruises. Holding his open wound located in his left bicep with his other arm.
Fischl remained in her seat, startled by the sight of the boy.
"Bennett.." mumbling, Bennett tranced towards her direction.
His feet dragged along the cold tile floor wearily from all the fighting he'd done. Fischl was still muttering unknown whispers he couldn't hear or know about.
Bennett took this as an opportunity to ask her about it.
"You okay? You've been mumbling the moment I came in," He laughed, sitting down beside her to rest. She didn't speak or reply to his question, making him even more perplexed.
She was distressed in the moment, not knowing what would happen to Bennett whenever he'd go out without a notice.
His own bad luck made it worse.
Suddenly, a loud screech could be heard from her seat.
"Do you know how worried I was for you?" Fischl's eyebrows were knitted in frustration, frustrated by how he could still grin ear to ear despite being covered in gashes. It made her heart writhe.
It was unpleasant to look at. Seeing her friend covered in injuries without asking for help.
"You're so frustrating to deal with!" cutting off Bennett, her mouth opened again. "How can you still smile at me while being covered in those?"
It didn't matter anymore. She didn't care how her words could affect Bennett. She wanted him to realize how much damage he made her feel.
"You can’t always come back to the guild and smile like you aren’t on the verge of collapsing!" She cried, stomping her way with her fists crumpling. "Don’t you just sit and think how we would feel seeing you like this?"
Her voice was strained, croaking out the words she had always wanted to say, "Everyday, I can’t go even by a single day without worrying about you.. Oz always tries to say 'He would be fine.' or 'Don’t fret, my lady, that boy would know better to not dive himself to danger.' and it would always...” She stopped and closed her eyes, heaving a sigh to not let her tears flow right down to her cheeks.
"Words cannot fathom how dreadful the thought is to not wake up every morning without seeing that smile on your face again, Bennett. It worries me so much, that one day I won’t see you opening that door again.” Tiredly interlocking with her violet eyes with his, the same colored hues that made her stomach crawl with butterflies.
"I've grown to worry about you, every single day due to your rowdiness and bad luck, yet you're here beaming at me as if you're perfectly fine being covered in bruises." She gently placed her hand on top of her chest, feeling her heartbeat beating faster than usual.
“It’s scary to think about a world without you in it.”
Bennett lowered his head guiltily, indulging what the lassie had said to him. Slowly realizing how his own actions could affect someone to the point where it was unbearable.
"Fischl.. I—" He tried to communicate to the girl, still applying pressure on the wound.
Bennett was taken aback by Fischl's shadow disappearing from his view. The door shutting before he could speak any further.
Fischl's back came in contact with the office door she recently was staying in, sliding down at a slow pace.
‘It's not like he knows what I was trying to say right?’ Embarrassing thoughts flooded into her head, rethinking what she said earlier to Bennett.
She was now sheepishly smiling, the thought of Bennett getting the idea of her liking him was enough to make her cheeks glow in pink hues.
Cupping her face, her hands felt the damp tears from earlier.
‘He won't know for sure.. right?’
