PRINCESS RHAELLE TARGARYEN was born on the 17th day of the eleventh moon, 197AC, to prince baelor targaryen and his lady wife, the lady jena dondarrion, in the early morning hours. her mother died later that day from blood loss as a result of post birth complications ( this is a thing can change depending on the verse, this is just how things stand in her main verse canon ) and as a result, she grew up being raised by her father primarily, save for when his duties called him away and he could not also be with his three children - at which point, she was looked after by at first a nurse, and then her governess, and septa. she was a little too far age wise from either of her brothers to really have them as companions to play with growing up, but they still found ways to bond as a family ( this is in fact also plot dependent based on the writers of those two characters and what they might decide with me could be common ground for the three of them ) and she adored them both. she was ? very upset whenever matarys was sent away to squire because she didn't know when he would visit, or if he would be allowed to visit, and she didn't want him to just suddenly be gone.she has her mother's red hair and her father's black eyes.
she was a very clumsy child when she was younger, though she got better with it for the most part when she was about seven ( because she was put in dance lessons when she was about five to help with her coordination, and balance. rhaelle very much loved those lessons, and she loved dancing, and she loves it even still ) if rhaelle's mind was at all occupied and she wasn't focused entirely on where she was going, she would trip and need to quickly think of a way to play it off if she had only stumbled or, she would need to get up, and dust herself off quickly to minimize the extent of the situation and to make it seem as if it had been no big deal. when that improved she became very fond of running, too, and it was a thing that she felt a lot of inner pride about because the fact that she could do so now with no complications was an achievement in itself. and as a child she is of the opinion that if you have to go somewhere, why not go somewhere quickly ( an opinion she doesn't put into practice because she knows it would be improper in a court setting, which, often leaves her restless when there's nothing going on around her ) she was given the position of cupbearer to daeron the good when she was seven going on eight 205AC, a position that she took very seriously, and a thing in which her actions were entirely slow - determined that she did not spill a single drop.
rhaelle is a very good singer, though she was passable at best and abysmal at worst with any of the instruments that there was an attempt to teach her.she does have a very wide singing range. she is stringent when it comes to note taking in her studies. she keeps a journal that she writes in daily, and all of that stems from the fact when she was about six she became aware of the fact that baelor seemingly forgets nothing and she in her head was like, ' i want to do that, i want to be like that.' she loves horses, and she always has, after she had gotten her first pony, she went daily to go visit her in the stables before bed, because she wanted to make sure she knew she hadn't forgotten about her. she has an unofficial cat, that she is very much content with. it's one of the many strays in the halls that she's been feeding that returns to her doors nearly every day that she's been trying to coax to come closer to her so that maybe one day he wil feel comfortable enough to come into her rooms. it's an orange cat that she's begun to call gowen.
she collects antique jewelry, though it's a majority rings. her largest collection of jewelry is likely her rings, she has a few bracelets, and more necklaces, but her second largest collection is hairnets, hair pins, hair pieces. rhaellle does not like the feeling of anything tugging on her hair, and for a while, she would pull at how her hair was put up for that day to attempt to loosen it without making too big of a fuss about the fact that she was uncomfortable. so she spent a lot of time dedicated in the searching for a way to do her hair that wouldn't tug too tight but wasn't too simple in a manner that would've been considered 'undignified ' of a princess. she would prefer to wear it down with nothing binding it, and does sometimes whenever she is sure that it's going to be a private occasion and will just be her father / her grandfather / her brothers / her uncle / aunt/ cousins.
she has a nut allergy. she's very fidgety, especially when young - and it is very much a tell to demonstrate when she's lying / omitting something and when she's not ( which she doesn't make a habit of doing, which is also why she's not the best at it ) she will take off one of her rings and pass it between her hands very idly, she'll look down at her hands, she'll flex her fingers, while trying her best to keep her composure, while nothing really shows on her face - if you know her, you'll know where to look to tell if she's witholding something. she's an extrovert, she can be very anxious at times. she's very sensitive, observant, inteligent, very stubborn and kind. she's compassionate and meticulous. she needs to have a plan in place when things get difficult, or else she will get very upset very quickly, and will loose her composure. she needs to have a list in mind to check the boxes off of whenever things get difficult or else she will struggle even more with the situation. she's good with talking to people, she's good with managing speaking to people and she does enjoy it for the most part, though it can get very draining at times at the end of the day, or very abruptly when there's a moment's pause in the events themselves.
she would've wanted to ride her horse to the tourney at ashford meadow, even if the month's long ride would've gotten her a no on account of her age, but she could not have done that regardless because a little over three weeks before they set off she fell off her horse, and hit her head on the ground. she was out for a few hours, and she broke her right arm - but she was alive after the fact, a thing of which she was grateful for. but she did need to travel in a wheelhouse because of it, as well as needing to take off the bindings that bound her arm every night to clean the stitches. at ashford meadow, she spent a good deal of her time with gwin ashford, and even took morning lessons with the other girl and her septa, she sat next to her at the tourney during the first day.
she's very close to her cousin aegon, and that stems from his time as a page in kings landing. they're close enough in age they can be friendly with each other in a way that she just doesn't feel like she could with her two older brothers. she sees him as a little brother figure, and the want to support him is the reason why she attended the trial of seven in the first place. she was the one who was screaming when her father's helmet was removed, and when she saw the piece of his brain and skull hit the dirt, she turned and ran, and tripped, and scraped up the palm of her other hand in the process. she ran until she found valarr.
she had written to her grandfather, in the aftermath, though valarr had already written to him of their father's passing, to ask him for a pardon for ser duncan, an official one, in case anyone did blame him and hope to seek vengeance for the part the common born hedge knight played in the death of the crown prince. she had had to run to find aegon again, before he had departed with duncan, to offer it to him to give to him. main verse, she did not get the chance to speak to duncan himself in the aftermath, but i would be open to plotting it with any duncan writers. she had spoken with maekar as well, after, and she had tried to be forgiving, and understanding, because the septas say that they should forgive, and that they should understand, but she just couldn't look him in the eye. she had said she forgave him, with her head ducked, and her gaze focused on a stone, before she ran off again.
she did not get sick during the spring sickness of 209AC, because she had gone before the first sign of it had shown itself to visit with her uncle maekar and her cousins daeron, daella and rhae. she couldn't be completely settled, knowing how thin the forgiveness felt in the initial aftermath, so she went to go see him and talk to him again, and she was there for about two weeks when the first raven reached them. rhaelle wanted to go back immediately, but she was kept from doing that and she learned that her grandfather and brothers got sick and passed from letters that arrived not very long after the first had came. she was more then likely passed over for the iron throne in favor of her uncle aerys, but there is a verse that exists where she wasn't - rhaelle became her uncle aerys' ward after he ascended, at first was in the constant company of his wife queen aelinor. but she, vastly prefers solitude at that point, and can often be found in the library.
