The MacCabe pack can be traced back through the centuries to Scotland. Lou comes from a long line of alphas, and it was expected that upon his dad’s passing, he would become one as well. His dad was widely loved and respected not only among his pack but also popular with other supernatural sects. Often aiding others when they needed to hide from humans or seek protection. Lou idolized his father, and the two were quite close. At fifteen, his father unexpectedly died small craft accident. At first, the pack decided they would run things by a proxy of elders until Lou came of age, but unfortunately, one wolf in the pack had their eye on being alpha. Three days after his father’s death, Lou was challenged for the position by a wolf three times his age. After a violent and ruckus meeting among the pack, it was decided they needed to honor all laws, and that Lou would have to fight the challenging wolf. So a very grief-stricken fifteen-year-old showed up that day already knowing he couldn’t carry the responsibility of the pack on his shoulders, and he wouldn’t be walking out of the forest that night as the victor. He put on a show for a while before allowing the other to win. It would be the first time in centuries that someone other than a MacCabe led the pack.
Despite the new alpha, Lou remained beloved by everyone. Thinking that fate interjected he leaned into other things. Interestingly, enough there’s a definite faction within the pack just waiting for Lou to challenge the alpha. A majority of the pack rely on Lou the way they did his father; seeking him out on advice and other matters. It absolutely infuriates their Alpha who feels undermined. The older Lou gets the more pressure he feels to unseat the wolf.
Presently, Lou runs a bar called the Lowdown on the outskirts of town. It’s a popular hangout for the supernatural, especially werewolves and shifters. It has a reputation as being a bit rough. Lou remains close to one of his father's best friends Dalton, a pack leader from across town. Many of their views align. There’s some tension as the pack finds themselves trying to keep themselves pure, and keep both made wolves and shifters out.

Louis came into this world under judgment and ill will. He was born to an unmarried young woman whose parents were infuriated that she'd given birth to a bastard. His grandparents ran a small shoe shop and upon his birth asked their daughter and grandson to leave.
Sara, his mother took a position as a maid within the palace and it was enough to support them. They lived in a humble small one-room flat close by. Louis frequently visited his mother at work and the rambunctious child was well-known and favored among staff. Rather early on he caught the eye of a king's guard who offered to make him an apprentice after witnessing his athleticism.
At the age of ten, he left the care of his mother to stay at the palace and began his rigorous training. Given he was the apprentice of the king's most favored guard he often traveled and had many interactions with the royal family. To better himself during his teen years he enthusiastically sought out an education from staff members and eventually learned to read.
Shortly, before his 18th birthday he thwarted an assassination attempt on a visiting nobleman which earned him admiration and respect among his own king and ruling class. By the age of twenty-one, he was knighted by his queen and gifted an estate. He immediately retired his mother who runs the day-to-day there. He is rarely home given he likes to stay near the queen.
Sir Loius is very much consumed by his position as a queen's guard and doesn't have much of a social life. He can be a tad intense while he's not at work and feels a bit out of place.
