Full Biography
Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, a little boy was born. The year was 1210 and the Brunestuds, a family of nobles from Great Britain, were having their first born.
Little Sebastian was the oldest of 3 children that blessed their family with their presence. From a very young age, they were all raised to look after their lands and people and rule with kindness and honor. Sebastian most of all, considering his charming personality and gentle heart would make for a great leader for their people.
Unfortunately, things rarely go according to plan. Sebastian grew up to be an eager and passionate teenager, whose path intertwined with that of the heir of another family of nobles from a neighboring land. His teenage years were full of escapades to meet the other in the woods that separated their kingdoms, their relationship quickly evolving into something far less platonic and a whole more romantic and forbidden.
These kind of homosexual encounters in the middle ages were troublesome enough by themselves, but it was all made worse by the terrible relationship between the two families who were in constant conflict with one another for being the main suppliers of Timber for the kingdom. Countless times before they had tried to take over the other in order to control the market. The profane relationship between the two heirs did nothing to help the situation and, when they got caught, it ended in Sebastian being exiled in the hopes that it would prevent an all-out war against the neighbors, who were superior military wise.
With a broken heart and the biggest feeling of betrayal, Sebastian left the land that was supposed to be his.
This, however, didn't help at all the political conflict between the lands and, in just a few years after Sebastian's departure, war became inevitable and their enemies got absolute control of the Brunestud's business and people.
The news got to Sebastian, who couldn't help the feeling that it was to be expected considering the lousy way in which everyone decided to handle the situation. Their enemies not only were bad at business, but they were tyrants as well. The lands he had cared for were withering, the business he was raised to tend to was dying and the people he loved so deeply were suffering. On top of it, his beloved family was imprisoned and mistreated. It wasn't until he found out about all this that he decided something had to be done.
But what?
He had no political influence of any kind, no allies and no army to take action against them. Sebastian spent years trying to come up with a plan, to get any kind of support, but he had no luck. With his reputation tarnished, his hopes vanishing and his lands ravaged by these idiots, he had no other option to turn to a higher power.
No. Not God. God clearly didn't care.
That's how Sebastian sold his soul to the devil. Not because he wanted power, not because he wanted revenge. He sold his soul out of love, because he cared far too much about his lands, his people and his legacy to let these things happen. If nobody would lend a helping hand to save his realm, his would be the hand to lay waste to his enemies.
So he lived for love and he died for love as well, for deals with the devil had an expiration date. Eventually, his soul was reaped and taken to the depths, to burn in the flames of hell for centuries. That is how a demon was born, as his soul was tainted and corrupted by the same fire that saved his people. Such was the fate of any human who fell from the grace of God. Sebastian's soul was resilient, for it was so full of humanity, but it eventually succumbed into sin too.
His love, his most prominent quality, was corrupted and twisted until it became lust. He was branded an incubus and given a demonic name he’d carry for the rest of his days: Raghan.
However, the time he burned in hell forged a remarkably strong demon, for he was still in touch with his humanity and humanity is the source of all sin. And so, Raghan escaped from hell to roam free through the land of men, unaware of his past as a human noble, for the abyss had consumed his memories.
But demons are souls, and they cannot exist in the physical world without possessing a body. Raghan had a very difficult time finding one that would serve him. Most of the people he possessed weren’t right, either too strong willed to submit or too weak to hold the true power of an arch demon like him. It took him years until he was finally drawn to his current body, designed almost perfectly to host him: the dying body of a young teenage boy drowning in a river.
Little did he know that this body was in fact his direct successor, Raymond Brunestud, as if it was some ironic twist of fate.
Raghan made the body his own, enhancing it and keeping it alive with his own demonic power, proud of how easy it felt to inhabit it. And so, he took over the life of his successor in the modern days, unaware that he had once again become the heir of his family, who remained very rich even when the 21st century no longer considered them nobles. Through his experiences “growing up” he learned about humanity, about society, about the world he now lived in again… And sometimes, when he’s exposed to his family’s heraldry or legacy, he can almost feel some of those memories from long ago coming back.
And with every passing day, the desire to rediscover his past grows stronger.
