Calamari inkantation could wake me out of a coma
Can I just say how much I love splatoon? Cosmic cloud’s video essay on how splatoon is a reflection of humanity is beautiful. I cannot stop thinking about how the fanbase is so young and bright and active that even though marina won most splatfests (pretty privilege ig) chaos won out in the final fest because the love for change and disarray won out over personal preference. It’s like youth in a bottle.
ZERO clue what to post so I'd like to let everyone know that Im getting really good at being an annoying e-litre on splat2
FUCKING STEALL

A Marie design, I’ve been working on since 2021. They’ve finally made it out of concept design
I dunno if this is a hot take, but I think the narrative of the Splatoon games has some of the most tragic missed potential I have ever seen. Splatoon has these characters with iconic designs, lovable personalities, and fantastic dynamics; it has some of the coolest concepts and fun backstory/lore of any game I've seen. And yet, most of the actual narratives told in the story modes of the games are so lackluster, with Octo Expansion maybe being an exception. Splatoon 2 fans will make S2 base campaign look so much more interesting than it actually is.
I don't really 100% know the reason why these campaigns fall short: maybe they underutilized characters, or have minimal plot, or don't really have a lot of cutscenes, or maybe a combination of all of the above. All I know is that so many authors would kill to have a foundation for a story half as good as Splatoon, and yet I find that even most fanfiction do a better job fleshing out characters and having an actual plot than most of the official story modes.
If there's one thing that I hope Raiders does, it's focus on the story. Give Deep Cut more to do (just in general. They were robbed). Have more plot moments than simply a cutscene at the start and the end. Give the agent... an actual personality. Idk. I still enjoy most of the story modes for Splatoon, these are just my personal gripes.
