I have just been crying for almost an hour because of a television program called 'Reportage', with extraordinary stories about people in the world. This episode was about two boys with skin diseases. The boy from China (22 years old) had this very thick skin and people called him 'fish boy' because it looked like the scale of a fish. His skin was like leather. But doctors could cure the disease with a medicine. The other boy was only 5 years old, from the US. He lost his skin with every single soft touch and he was covered in four layers of bandaid every day. He'd probably die at the age of 20. He had so much pain, it was hurting me too. Doctors have cured him too, by a bone marrow transplantation. His skin had never been that beautiful. I feel so broken now, I feel so sorry for them. But I know I can help those people in the future. I can do this after I've finished college. I study bio-informatics. Those diseases were inheritable. Maybe I can find a gene for some rare disease, so specialists can do more research to the disease. Maybe they'll find a cure, maybe we'll save so many lives. I am so motivated to finish my study right now. I already was, but now I remember what I'm fighting for. I hope I will find solutions and missing keys for curing certain diseases, maybe even cancer.. This tv program has given me a lot of strength, although I know I'm not there yet.
