Some of the residents from the weird living society of Biogena. Being a society rife with genetic modifications and such, plenty of the citizens in this weird country would modify themselves in many ways as well, some look more ‘monstrous’ than others but overall they are all humans just the same.
Now for a conceptual look on the society that I haven’t completely hammered down yet.
Of all the societies in the post-apo world of Gaia AGR, Biogena is known for being the least xenophobic and most accepting of differences. The reason for this is due to the high amount of differences there are between people, in Biogena, your best friend may be like a mixture of a bird and a insect, whilst your neighbours would be like walking Picasso paintings. So racism and other forms of prejudices are seen as absurd, as everyone is different anyways. From this mindset, they’ve developed a culture of appreciating differences and other’s cultures.
They also tend to be more ‘attune’ with nature due to being surrounded by many different and strange living beings, so many may look ‘animalistic’ in some way.
Genetic modification itself, is a easy process for them, cosmetic modifications are almost no different from say, having a haircut. Medical ones and very massive cosmetic changes on the other hand, isn’t without its challenges. With it, they may be able to more easily eradicate diseases and give more support to the disabled, but everyone’s bodies can be all very different from one another, with some being more resistant whilst some are more adaptable to changes.
Despite what it may seem, they are VERY against eugenics due to their culture of loving differences, and any ‘cosmetic’ changes to a child by their parents is against the law, and the child can only get such modifications when they reach the age of 15 and it must be their own decision.
Their society overall is a bit socialist. Whilst classes do exist, they tend to mix so much that it may at times be difficult to see the differences between social classes, finances are often distributed to lower classes easily and it isn’t out of the question for many individuals to constantly change their social classes both up and down.
Despite their monstrous appearances that can look gnarly, terrifying, and even downright nightmarish, they are all in the end, humans. And they are perhaps no different from the people you may know in real life.
On the next for ‘living machinery/electronics’, here is a living computer. Seeing as how computers usually have a different set of parts going into them to make them usable (like the keyboard, monitor, mouse, etc), I’d imagine a living computer would be like different sets of animals working together in a symbiotic relationship.
I haven’t decided what would ‘power’ them exactly though, maybe the owners of these guys would have to directly feed them whatever yummy stuff they may eat and then clean their poop later, lol. On the other hand, they may get nutrients from a bizarre ‘organic powergrid’ without ever needing to poop at all, so at least you don’t have to worry about them drinking your coffee when you’re not looking, lmao.
