COLLIN FORRESTER. college junior; twenty. trevor jackson. TAKEN.
and, as cameron frye once said:
“I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I'm going to take a stand. I'm going to defend it. Right or wrong, I'm going to defend it.”
BEFORE THE PARTY;
You know that saying; “a diamond is a chunk of coal that is made good under pressure.”. Well that saying couldn’t apply to anyone in the town of Rosewood more than Collin Forrester. Collin Forrester was a diamond to Rosewood, Illinois. One of their biggest and brightest. There was no doubt to anyone who knew the boy that he’d go on to do incredible things with his life once he’d left town.
Why? Because he’d been groomed his entire life to be nothing more than perfect.
Collin had been adopted by two very prominent figures in the town of Rosewood at the age of two. As he’d come to find out, his parents had tried time and time again to conceive a child but it unfortunately wasn’t in the cards for them. They did however eventually get their baby. Him. Their miracle child as his mother would often refer to him. Collin had always been the pride and joy of his parental units, because he was all they had.
But all that love and admiration had also come with pressure.
You see, Collin couldn’t stand to disappoint his parents. Why? Because despite the love he received from them, he also knew that they expected greatness from him. He understood that from a fairly young age. They’d pushed him into becoming the best Pinocchio Rosewood Elementary would ever see. They coached him into becoming a swimming wunderkind, much like his father had once been. And let’s not speak on Collin’s scholastic accomplishments as we’d be here all day.
All people saw was the list of accomplishments, but no one saw the wreck that he was. Collin Forrester was a perpetual nervous wreck. Always had been, he just knew how to mask it well behind that charming smile of his. He almost always expected things to go wrong, because in his opinion... nothing ever went right.
Why did he think this way? You could chalk it up to the disintegration of his parents marriage. As much as his parents loved him, it was more than apparent they no longer loved one another. So like many kids, Collin had to watch as his parents got divorced and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t blame himself for it. So at a time when most families were taking their kids to Disney World or at the very least taking them to get ice cream, his parents were duking it out in court. Using him as a bargaining chip rather than the miracle baby they’d claimed him to be for so many years.
The day the judge pound his gavel, Collin had found himself living under the critical eye of his father. His father was widely known for being a stern man, never one to show much emotion. It wasn’t that he wasn’t loving... Collin just swore his father found it easier to show affection towards his priceless Ferrari than to him. At times, Collin had to wonder if his father had fought his mother for joint custody of him just to simply say that he’d taken that from her.
Collin’s father pressured him into being the best. He didn’t want any slackers or bums. He wanted someone that he could show off at the country club. As he would often tell him, he didn't want him to end up like Flynn Bueller.
Which much to his dismay, ended up being Collin’s favorite human being. Now he knew people wondered, ‘how did the two of them end up being best friends’? They couldn’t have been more different. Collin, the overachiever. Flynn Bueller, the perpetual problem child. Even he often wondered what’d kept them together to this day? Why him? And the answer to that was simply, they provided each other with an escape from their respective reputations.
With each other, they just got to be.
DURING THE PARTY;
Collin sat in his father’s driveway. His piece of shit car had given out on him. Big shocker there. He had been asking his father for a new one but he had yet to budge, saying something about wanting to see him at the top of his class before rewarding him with such a luxury. This coming from the man who wanted to eat fresh lobster every other night with his buddies at the country club.
He knew had to show up at this party, Flynn was counting on him. He had called Flynn to let him know about his car problems, not that he had cared much. He had party on the mind and wanted his best friend to be there to celebrate with him. He knew it would take at least forty-five minutes to get to the party and he was already running late. That’s when Flynn told him to take his father’s car. The Ferrari. He couldn’t. If he as much as got a scratch on it, his father would literally kill him. It was his baby. But as he sat in the car, he began thinking to himself, he owed it to himself to see this night through.
He threw so much on his shoulders... tonight was his night to unwind. To be an actual young adult and not just some robot programmed to make his father happy.
That’s when something took over him and he grabbed the Ferrari’s keys and drove the expensive car over to Flynn’s home.
As he pulled into the long driveway, he got stares and catcalls from his classmates. They were either shocked to see him in something so incredible or impressed to see that he had such a thing. He didn’t know that a car would do that for him, had he… he would have probably considered taking it sooner. All in all, he felt good. The usually pessimistic boy was full of confidence. Well, until a garden gnome crashed into his wind shield. The rowdiness around them came to a mute, soon followed by a whole lot of ‘oooh’s. Collin stuck his head out of the window, to see how in the hell that’d just happened.
An answer he received instantly as standing on the roof of the Bueller home was his best friend, golf club in hand and a look on instant regret on his face.
But no matter how regretful Flynn was, it didn’t match his in that moment. His life was officially over.
Do you guys have any most wanted characters?
Yes we do!
I believe the general consensus of all in the RP is that we would like more of the characters on Hayden Master’s side of things. I.E. Violet Hollis, Camelia Rockingham, and Phoebe Creon. Similarly, we would all appreciate having more male characters in the RP. Oliver Martin and Kahele Alamana have great plot potential, and our resident puppy/pizza boy, Lance Johnson, would be a wonderful way to liven up our dashboard!Please also note that we will consider faceclaim changes on any of these characters.
We would also love if people submitted OCs! We are open to accepting them and simply want you to come join and stretch your roleplaying legs through our plot!
SUEDE DUNN. college junior; twenty. greta onieogou. TAKEN.
and, as sloane peterson once said:
“He's gonna marry me.”
BEFORE THE PARTY;
Suede Dunn had found herself in Rosewood, Illinois due a series of unfortunate events. But before we get to why she’d found herself in Rosewood, we need to understand who Suede Dunn once was.
Suede was everything you wanted in a daughter, especially when you’re a member of the Dunn family. You see, the Dunns were quite the name in the political field and when you are a name in such a field, certain things are required of you. You’re to be excellent at all things you do, while being nothing but respectful... add onto that the fact that you have to appear to be perfect at all times, it’s a lot for one person to take on.
But she had taken the task on. How could she not? She refused to make any marks on her mother’s pristine name. You see, her mother was the definition of a modern day woman. Someone who’d risen from less than amazing roots to graduate summa cum laude at a prestigious ivy league school and then marry into a political dynasty where she’d become a political tour de force herself. She was a hero to many— women and men alike, Suede included.
So much so that Suede found herself wanting to be like her mother, because how could anyone accept anything less than perfection from the child of this important woman. And it was those insanely high standards that she’d put on herself that’d eventually lead to her inevitable demise.
In the pursuit towards academic greatness, Suede had found herself throwing on more classes, extracurriculars, community service than one probably should’ve. And the burnout was certainly setting in faster than she cared to admit. How her mother had made this seem so effortless, she’d never understand. But she refused to come off as anything less than amazing and soon, she’d discovered something that’d push her over the edge.
Speed. Everyone in her study groups was doing it. Literally everyone. You see, she wasn’t the only young adult dealing with the pressures of living up to standards. Now, time after time she’d politely denied offers. But even the most level headed people can be pushed and her moment eventually came for Ms. Dunn.
Her’s came during a low. A moment where her life felt as if it were crashing all around her. No matter how much effort she put into what she was doing, she was failing. And failing hard, so she accepted what she knew would be a much needed boost. For a moment there, everything began to click once more but she’d find that her life would soon come crashing down once more.
You see, while Suede was an intellectual... she wasn’t your average bookworm. No, she actually enjoyed having fun, much to the chagrin of her contemporaries. Because not only was she beautiful, intelligent, but she was also essentially sunshine barbie. That need for fun had led her to him. He was a member of Ravenwood’s academic decathlon team, her teams rival at the finales. Stunning, but he didn’t actually seem to realize that. Adorable, in the dorkiest way possible. And she couldn’t keep her hands off of him, despite the fact that her roommate had also had her eyes on him.
So after a night with said guy, a guy who’s name she didn’t even take down just because the moment had been so special... why ruin it? Because that’s what came later. They’d follow one another on instagram and just become another number on their follower count. No, she preferred to commit their night together to memory. But that amazing night would be followed by her being greeted to her school’s faculty members in her hotel room. A bottle of speed having been found in her belongings.
One that... had indeed belonged to her.
And with that discovery, she’d soon found herself expelled from her university. So rather than facing her mother and the disappointment that’d surely follow, Suede decided that Rosewood would be it for her. Her family was established there, surely they’d be able to get her in Ravenwood and... he happened to be there too.
This would be her new start. A chance to do things better.
DURING THE PARTY;
Suede found herself at the party, from word of mouth. One thing she’d come to find out about Rosewood was that everyone knew about everyone’s business. Luckily, that rule hadn’t applied to her as of yet, given she’d been pretty much locked away at her aunt and uncle’s place.
And she’d been expected to stay locked away in her aunt and uncles, but how was she not suppose to overhear Kirby speaking of this massive party that everyone was going to be at? Come on. So while her cousin couldn’t be in attendance, given he was going to be off being a great human being... that meant she’d have to show up and show out for the Dunn’s.
So Suede threw on one of the nicer dresses she’d hastily packed into her luggage, fixed up her hair and tip toe’d right out of the front door with her designer heels in hand. But as she started up her car to go... she came to realize one thing.
She had no fucking clue where this party even was!
But the answer to that came courtesy of her cousin’s friend, Brodie Balcoin. Who’d just posted his location to his story, despite it being a known fact that was never a great thing to do. But god bless that idiot because of him, she had somewhere to go and have fun for a night.
She eventually arrived to the party, taking a moment to herself before she stepped out.
Suede sat in her car and told herself that this was going to be a fun night for her. One, she most definitely deserved because who knew how much longer she’d be in Rosewood. For all she knew, her parents would be showing up and send her right back to her former school. Ugh. But tonight, that’d be the last thing on her mind.
So she stepped out, closing her eyes to take a deep breath and just as she stepped forward, someone had crashed into her. Just as she was prepared to say something to said person, her eyes met theirs....
It was him. Her one night stand.
Collin Forrester.
