Whatever district you are in, you will have the opportunity to stroll through our famous Christmas markets, or come across one of the many ice rinks installed by the city for the end of the year.
Now let's find the perfect way for you to leave 2022:
Kicking off at 7pm on New Year's Eve, and running all the way until 2am, Somerset House has partnered with Moët & Chandon to ring in 2023 with a bang. There’ll be fireworks, music from Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK’s Jonbers Blonde and Soho Radio, food from Chalet Suisse, fizz aplenty and beautiful views. What more could you want from an evening ?
If the buzz and agitation isn’t truly your thing or if you want a more classical approach to New Year’s Eve, come to the Opera House and enjoy Sir Peter Wright's sumptuous, classical version of 'The Nutcracker'. It's danced to Tchaikovsky's masterful score, and shines for its emphasis on the story's magic and for the beautiful, romantic backdrops that transport Clara to exotic lands.
Or, if you’re looking for a high end dining experience and a front row seat for the fireworks show, enjoy your evening at The Savoy : New Year’s Eve at The Savoy is really something magical. The Savoy has formed a double-act with Champagne Laurent-Perrier to put on a show, with a festive activation entitled, ‘It’s Showtime’ that will give guests a truly memorable experience. OOC INFORMATION & IC DRAMA 😈😈😈 below cut
To allow characters from all social backgrounds to run into one another, we’ve chosen 3 locations that are all within half a mile of one another. They are all located in the “red viewing area” displayed on the map (Click here). Feel free to find all sorts of excuses to mingle with the wrong crowd as we bid 2022 our goodbyes.
The event will be running from today until January the 8th (we’ll make a poll about it when the time comes) and will end with a splash. As Big Ben counts down to ten, Londoners see their dirty laundry aired to the public through social media. Whether those are simple rumors, absolute lies or secrets you would have loved to keep a secret? That’s entirely up to YOU. - We’ll also ask you to decide on a date that seems most easy for the secrets to be dropped on social medias :)
As of now, you can send your characters’ secrets to the main through the ask box. If you have several characters with one main blog, make sure to precise with which character each secret goes. The secret may be a rumor, a secret, or complete slander (for more IC fun, try not to reveal the truth about your secrets in the OOC chats 😉)

Everyone suspects LÀI LILING of at least one of the cardinal sins, but in Nevada, the worst sins are bound by blood and this is HERS: WHITE SNAKES. SHE rolled the dice THIRTY SIX YEARS ago as a DEPUTY MOUNTAIN MASTER. Under the desert sun, they claim the act of ART DEALER. They’re often mistaken for GEMMA CHAN before those crimson colored glasses slide down their nose. LILI better get busy living, or they’ll get busy dying by the ripe age of THIRTY SIX. There are no second acts in a marked life, and it’s measured out by the melody of WATER SIGN BY SPIDER.
DATE OF BIRTH: June 23rd, 1985

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY
Being born into the Lài family meant that one was born with the great weight of expectations and responsibilities. Liling was no different. As a daughter born in the great house, there was added responsibility to take over one of the great roles in the family’s hierarchy. From an early age she was taught her loyalty, her talents and her responsibility was to the family and that was what would be expected of her.
Spending her time growing up between three different countries, Liling became quite comfortable with traveling and doing the bidding of her family. She stayed in the United States until she was 10, only traveling to China with the family during trips. When she was ten she was sent to boarding school abroad. She went to China first, like so many of her other family members to the school they sent many of their children to. When she was 16 though, her mother insisted she go to an elite boarding school in Europe, and they settled on one in England. Her mother wanted her to have a leg up on her other cousins and had recognized her daughter’s talent for art. It was a blessing that she expressed talent at an early age for art, given that her family’s business was so tightly tied to forgery.
After graduation, Liling was sent to Cambridge to study art and art history. For a time she even studied at Sotheby’s and secured a job with them after graduation in London. Due to the ties of her family, it was not long before she found the black market tied to the art auction house. Her mother had wanted Liling to secure a footing on the black market in England, expanding their connections further across the globe and it paid off. During her time helping to sell and to make forgeries in the art world, Liling established connections that the Lài’s could call upon when the time came.
When she was 29, she was called back to the United States to start to make her own way in the family’s hierarchy. Proving her worth by providing the powerful contacts she made in England, with her skill for forgery and her knowledge of art and art history made her a valuable asset to the family - just as her mother intended. She passed her evaluations to place her higher, and even worked as the vanguard for a time before her cousin Suyin took over. Her mother pulled her from that position and helped her apprentice with her aunt until she was old enough to become the Deputy Mountain Master. Passing all evaluations with flying colors, Liling took to her new position with a sense of pride and pleasure. Her whole life had led to this moment, molding her and shaping her so that she could climb her way to the top. Now, she is second in command and her parents could not be prouder.
For a year now, Liling has been working beside her aunt as her second in command and though she misses the pleasure that came with the hands on work of forgery, she does her job as is needed. Sometimes, Liling still takes the time to complete a forgery or two, taking pleasure in the solace of her studio at her home where she can simply melt into the details of the canvas. On the side she works as an art dealer, often in partnership with her cousin’s gallery, but also with wealthy clients in the city. Special ones who have earned the right to deal with her family are often sold those the family has amassed on the black market or through their own means. She’ll move anything that needs to be moved and the flexibility of the job means she can focus on leading the White Snakes with her aunt.
