Okay so I'm having a slight laptop technical issue - my power button is broken, it's not a wonder since the insides of my laptop are falling apart. But, I'm having lots of trouble turning it on, so I looked into alternatives, and apparently you can set your laptop to power up at the press of a keyboard key if you set it up in bios mode!
So I've tried to get into the bios mode, but found out I have a limited bios, something called 'Insydeh2O utility' opens up, and it doesn't have the power or advanced option. Looking further into this, I found out the manufacturers just lock up these options, and I've looked into how to unlock the full bios, and found there's a little bios unlocker program for this.
However the program doesn't work for me! I run it and it just says 'incorrect function' and I can't get my bios unlocked.
All other options to turn on laptop without a power button involve wires, taking the laptop apart completely, installing a new power button, and it's not viable for me right now, I don't have the specialized paste you need to use if you're taking off the motherboard.
So, does anyone know a cool way to unlock the bios that works? Or a cool alternative to power up a laptop without a power button? I've been looking things up and trying things for last hour and didn't get any further than this.
