California Brown Sea Hare, Aplysia californica
The California brown sea hare is a common organism in PV tidepools, often found an impressive distance from the water, staying inside of pools when the tide lowers. They can grow up to 30 cm, but most that you will find at PV are about half that size.
Aggregating Anemone, Anthopleura elegantissima
The aggregating anemone is a close relative to the starburst anemone. Inside anemones, a symbiotic relationship between the anemones and algae takes place. The anemone gains its color from this relationship, gaining excess nutrients the algae produce.
