red explosions + synthetics live ? i like that ! and what about kaidan and shepard (later, after he recovers) ? any hc on where they live, what they do ? is it all domestic or are they back to spectre work ?
Ohhhh ok, ok, I had a feeling that’s what you wanted but I wasn’t sure, haha.
*pushes up glasses*
After Shepard is discharged from hospital, they stay in a nearby apartment which Kaidan has been staying at for about a month, just in-case Shepard needs further treatment. They’ve discussed living together before, what it would be like after the war, and now that they’re here, they’re kinda not sure where to go with it. Shepard has told Kaidan numerous times, that wherever Kaidan is, he’s home. So Kaidan takes that cue and decides they should settle in Vancouver and finally show that beautiful view he’d been talking about. Just seems appropriate.
I like the idea of them just settling down, but they’re soldiers at heart, and while living their lives together is something they want, they’ll always want to serve somehow. Not as soldiers I imagine. I picture Kaidan continuing his role in the recognition of Human Biotics, teaching students at Grissom Academy, or recruiting new candidates for the Biotics squad and training them. Shepard, on the other hand, is discharged because of his injuries, and while Shepard insists he’s fine, Hackett thinks he deserves a goddamn rest after saving the galaxy. So instead, his duty as a Spectre to the Council has him on supervision duty for the rebuild of alien home-worlds, Kaidan tags along for the most part, and Shepard doesn’t mind.
They don’t work full-time I suppose, because they do actually want to spend time together just being John and Kaidan. Domestic headcanons is a whole other fluffy list.
Oh, and they get married. But I think we all headcanon that, haha. How this happens always changes for me. I blame fics.
Thanks biotic-bisexuals for asking, heh, I’m not sure exactly where you wanted me to go with this, but here they are. They’re more immediate headcanons I think though.
- Shepard survives. Barely. It doesn't take too long to find him buried within the rubble in London because I believe that there was a way with Shepard's cybernetics to track him down. How he ended up back in London, I'm not really sure how to explain that. Thinking that he survives the fall between the Citadel and Earth sounds crazy, so there must be a more logical explanation. Escape shuttle? Beam that goes back to London? Who knows, really.
- I’m not sure how long it would take to recover from such injuries. But I’ve asked around and the general consensus is about 4 months for him to back on his feet, at least. Kaidan stays at the hospital offcourse, always at his bedside, and the rest of the crew (from ME2 and ME3) come visit and also make sure Kaidan’s looking after himself. The blast does damage a majority of Shepard’s cybernetics, but I think nothing space magic can’t fix. Like c’mon, they brought him back from the dead for crying out loud.
- So I don’t entirely believe the threat of the Catalyst, saying all synthetics will also be destroyed. EDI had mentioned, that the Reapers are all about self-preservation, and if that means the Catalyst telling a lie, a half-lie or whatever to change your mind about destroying them, they’ll do it so that they can get the chance to live. So I think, red explosion doesn’t destroy Synthetic life, I think it may instead set back their programming, or take away their sentience, though, that does sound like a bad thing, I think it gives another chance for organics or creators, to amend ways with the history of the Geth if they were to give that sentience back to them. As for EDI, she finds a way to stow herself away as a precaution, some sort of black box perhaps that can activate her programming once safe conditions are met again.
Well those are the main points, I guess, if there’s something specific you wanted my head canon on just tell me :)
