Eugh the look gave him the chills.
He put his hand on the kid's forehead, pushing him back softly.

It'd been a long day for the brunette, and she spent most of it working on that damn fence. The fence going around the town, in attempts to shield and protect its citizens from the monsters that had been unleashed upon them. Every single person left had been working on building it, including her great uncle.
Strangely enough, Mabel had yet to see her own brother throughout the day. She figured he wanted time alone, and therefore hadn't set out to look for him. She slowly staggered to her feet and lifted a muddy hand to brush away a strand of hair from her eyes. Her braid was beginning to loosen; she'd have to fix it.
Thank goodness she earned a break. Stepping back from the others, she wiped her grimy palms on the edges of her skirt before slowly undoing the braid. Her eyes drifted shut for a second as she fixed her hair, trying to think back to before everything went to hell. It was her and Dipper's fault this happened, but they couldn't tell anyone that. It'd only get them into trouble.
Once the braid was fixed, she opened her eyes and frowned, spotting a figure up ahead. She narrowed her eyes and blinked; it certainly looked like her twin. Mabel took a step forward and smiled, not seeming to notice anything off about the other just yet.
"Leave me alone already!" he snapped, not even sure who he was talking to anymore.
