Do you plan on writing anything that features. Head vox
No but allow me to direct you to @spoondrifts @moomooofdoom @prince-liest @sleepykittties @angel-axo support and love them because im certain they'll be far more normal about the concept
Hello baby bird,
What do you think the hotels honest opinion on Alastor is? I see arguments that charlie doesn't care that much about him since she ignores him after both finales
GOD.
okay we've been discussing this a lot lately. in show im sure all this will probably be glossed over and handwaved and never properly addressed, but if i approach this with hope in my heart, this is what i think is happening:
so charlie is a nice character, but she isn't Kind, and there's a big difference. she conducts herself as politely as possible, listens, tries to support her friends, but she consistently fucks it up. pushing angel after he says he doesn't want to do or discuss something, not listening to vaggie, fundamentally misunderstanding boundaries and relationships, etc.
i don't think she's intentionally cruel! i think she's very empathetic but has no awareness on how to like, properly treat people during hard emotional situations, which is the crux of what she Wants to be doing.
and that in turn plays into her opinion of alastor and alastor's opinion of her.
because alastor is constantly masking himself as a man who needs no help, is flighty, an asshole, and props himself up as the be all end all and a FATHER FIGURE, she assumes he's okay. she knows he's always lying but eats his act up at face value, and therefore, does not know he's lying about BEING OKAY. she does not dig deeper into him in a constructive way, she does not check in on him, he's constructed a persona so ironclad even she, miss 'i want to help everyone', cannot see past it.
the rest of the hotel, barring husk at one point, also buys the act. so they leave alastor to alastor, never question his behavior, and assume it all stems from him being a massive dick. and a lot of it does, but he's ALSO MASKING CONSTANTLY
so i think alastor does and deserves to hold resentment for this treatment of him, especially from charlie! he held her hotel up almost single-handedly in his host role, and the second he starts being petty from being ignored, shit goes sideways. i hope to god he crashes out at charlie and teaches her a hard lesson in nice vs. kind.
but anyway i know the show will just gloss over all this
I just finished the new episodes and immediately thought "oh shit is Bird okay after getting caught in the face with Apollo's dodgeball like that"
LIKE. "I offered him Hell on a silver platter and he laughed in my face about it" from chapter 15???? A YEAR AGO??
Anyway I had to put my phone down like 6 times for episode 4. I got so excited I don't even remember everything that happened man I think I blacked out I have to watch everything again
i was right about everything.
This is probably some random thing to say, but. Despite everything else (by that I mean the L in Lucifer), Alastor doesn’t seem half bad in this latest batch of episodes. If anything I feel like this is as close to his pilot self as he gets, calculated, unflustered, happily causing chaos, with his edginess toned down or justified since he’s intentionally getting a rise out of Vox. And look at him skidding around in the damn chair
For the funsies, I hc him to have become at least a bit chummy with Vel by the time they show up together to cockblock Val and Vox. And she is the one who brought Al with her.
Vel doesn’t care for Vox’s bullshit and find his obsession on Alastor ridiculous, and so does Alastor, so they have that much in common. Not to mention the similarities in their work, even if it’s a stretch, radio broadcasts and social media managing both fall under mass communication.
I think at best they can become somewhat of gossip buddies, as long as Vel knows Alastor won’t try something funny. He’s enemy, but he’s here as Vox’s prisoner after all, not really the Vees’, they are treating him as such more out of being a team.
you just said everything i've been thinking and i just wanna know which one of yall it is that took my thoughts from the server and spit them back out at me LMAO
alastor and velvette have the potential to be such bitchy gossipy besties and im living for it. i KNEW they'd get along but im so glad the show is proving it
