Hey about your 'what is this sound' do you think it could be a badger? They're all over, and would be low enough to generally be covered by grass even in an open field and they have the WEIRDEST sounds. But also barking deer are very strange.
...I totally forgot we have badgers here. Possibly? When I say “Loud” I mean “Angry Drunk Man Screaming” levels of loud. Which I think bagers can make.
We have Bobcats, those can get loud when they’re randy but they sound different, more yowley and rougher. Oh, and shitwhacks of mule deer, but those are much higher-pitched and more of a “Weh” or “YUCK!” sound when they’re annoyed at eachother.
