Dat Monster Hunter difficulty curve tho
Redesign for a monster I made
Six Kings most wanted: El Guapo, Jacho, and Judas. The main antagonists of Six Kings Low and High rank story lines. El Guapo is Low ranks main threat, and the Twin Devils are High rank's threat. (more info for each below) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"El Guapo" : An old male Ulunagi that has been named as such due to the numerous scars, breaks and blemishes adorning his body. An Ulunagi turned maneater, he gets most of his meals stealing from hunters and other monsters, sometimes even taking the hunters themselves. He is responsible for dozens of deaths, both of hunters and innocent civilians, and as such has been repeatedly sought and hunted, each time met with failure, each time, making the situation worse. With each failed hunt, El Guapo is able to hunt larger game less and less, and has had to turn his sights to people and their stock to feed himself. Rumored to have also killed the previous chief, the town is desperate, their hunters few and far between, much less those capable of hunting the goliath, so it up to you to take up arms and finally put him down. "Yacho" : a Yao Kuroyao of undetermined age that has been seldom sighted in the Volcanic Gorge, his impressive bleached gold crown makes him a revered member of his species, this has however changed recently, as his crown is broken, his two great horns cleaved off by his nemesis Judas. This has caused Jacho to become more agitated and aggressive, and in recent years he has been viciously assaulting caravans and the Troverian mining outpost. In light of the assault by El Guapo of the city, Jacho has become a serious threat to the rebuilding efforts, putting even more lives at risk with each passing day. "Judas the Starblighted" : A large male Djokori that is spoken of in whispers by the southern most natives, he and Jacho have had several bouts, with each sustaining heavy battle scars from each other. Judas has a deep abyssal purple sheen to his ice scales, with his thunder organs giving him an abyssal like look, giving him the title "The Starblighted". After a particularly vicious fight with what is thought to be Jacho, Judas is burned on the right side of his face, his plate horns broken, letting part of his thunder element condense above his head like a twisted halo. He has been a major factor in the avoidance of the Boreal Abyss by researches and hunter, with most parties venturing there being repelled by the monster. The Lynians of the region warn them of the impending end times, where the sky is blanketed in black and the land frozen in permafrost. With how the region has been in recent times, there might be more to this warning than just superstition.
Even the Six Kings themselves are going through changes and updates, further refining what I like about each and what works with their established place and role. I would probably say Yao and Djokori are the 2 that are getting the largest makeovers, but there's still opportunities for some others.
Funnily enough the Djokori bust was made with the intent of keeping the og color scheme alive and well but then it was decided to change it to a much colder, aurora-esque feel that I feel compliments the monster much more, with some added leopard seal influence thrown in!
Lepi-Rongo, The "Moth Wing Wyvern" One of our older monsters, this design is its newest interpretation. Lepi is itself based on the Mothman, leaning much more into its explanation as a black heron/bird, rather than the traditional moth creature.
Another large inspiration was the Shoebill, which should be obvious.
Underlings for the other pack hunters of Six Kings. Being the subordinates of Great Sintachim L.Great Wroggi, and Eudyrampos respectively.
Hunters Notes for all 3!
