While I’m waiting for Birger Engineering’s Canon EF to Sony NEX E-Mount electronic adapter I have stared using the Canon EF and EF-S lenses with a simple mechanic Fotodiox EOS-NEX adapter. Choosing this option implies the adjustment of the iris on the EF lenses on a Canon DSLR camera prior to mounting on the Sony NEX-FS100. The EF lenses have an electronic iris that requires the camera to adjust it and not manually on the lens. It is more time consuming and inconvenient, but the beautiful Canon glass pays off in image quality when used on a FS100. This adaptation works great for controlled filming environments like interviews and studio work.
